I've always wanted to try it so one night by the fire I gave it a go. Def will be doing more of it in the future

i've seen people spell things out, but i haven't mastered the technique yet.

Wow, those are really awesome.

 

Tripod the camera to fix objects in the background. A delay shutter will enable you to get in the frame and move the light sources.

What is causing the thinner yellow squigglies (such as in the second pic) which seem to be trailing off at random from the main light pattern? It's bugging me because I can't figure out what that is.

 

edit: It's the embers falling off the burning stick

part of the reason why I prefer burning sticks over flashlights
