We spend our entire youth inside school, learning the most pointless things and doing the most pointless things, 5 days a week, 6 hours a day, then come home just to do more homework. Once we hit the age of 18 we graduate to become "adults" where we then spend the majority of our life doing a job we hate (for the most part) with little vacation time, just to earn money, but we have to give all that money away to just survive. Then we finally hit old age, when we can retire and enjoy our life.. but, we are to old to do anything we enjoy, not to mention the lack of money most elderly people have. So honestly, what is the point? we work our whole life so we can die... why not just run off into a beautiful amazon jungle and live with the monkeys? that sure seems like a lot more fun than spending my life doing things i hate with little to know reward.
Because The "Beautiful" Amazon Jungle As You Describe It, Is Teeming With Deadly Snakes, Spiders, Man Eating Fish, And Hundreds Of Other Deadly Creatures.... Trust Me, You Wouldn't Last One Day.... Cheers Glen.
That's the exact thought process that lead me on a wild mental/philosophical/life journey that continues now and forever. You hit the nail on the head. That's why We need to completely redo the system, which people seem to forget is only a system of people, people that can change it if they want to.
Hmmm, live a long life of (perhaps self prophesied) misery and toil, or .5 to .75 of a day of bliss,,, Tough call.
Do it! that is the point of life, to live it to the fullest. its your life to live however you want to! isn't it great?:2thumbsup:
You cannot live apart from society. You are society. If you attempt to create something different with your life, whatever you create, whether it is influenced by, or is a reaction to, the society you live in, will reflect what you came from.
And what more would we accomplish if we didn't die? Everyone would be perfect at everything eventually. Even if you summit the worlds tallest, submerge to the deepest, see every single star up close and personal or be the one with the highest dollar amount...you will never be satisfied, ever. I get what your saying on the 'removal from society'. It'd be nice to live outside it for awhile to be sure. I wanna move to a secluded northeast Arizona town later in life. That'd be nice.
How do you know? Were you there? Maybe it's a really awesom place, and all those documentaries are simply dramatised. Would filmdirectors make money just by saying the jungle is a nice place to chill?
Glad to see most of you agree, and yes it is highly unlikely the 'system' will be changed any time soon, or ever.. it'll probably get worse. I suppose the only solution is to leave 'the system' and be completely free, although.. honestly, can any of us actually willingly leave, knowing we would never be able to use modern day inventions, such as the internet.. cell phones, tv, and if you left you would never be able to wear some new fresh clean cloths, or hang out with friends to go out and do things, have a nice roof over your head, a shelter, a guaranteed food supply, unlike in the wild... Theres a lot you would be loosing.
Most stupid post I've read in while. Oh no, wait, it's a conspiracy by all documentary film makers and they are probably paid by the Freemason Shadow Government or the Catholic Church or maybe Donald Trump. YAH!
No matter what you do in your life, you WILL eventually die. No way around it. If your life has a meaning depends only on you. Only you can give your life a meaning. Without your input life is completely meaningless (if you don't count the proliferation of the species).
You end up pretty much bored of everything anyway, no matter what you do Theres only one thing you dont get bored of, and in the end thats best self administered so you dont have to put up with anyone elses crap, and lets face it, no one is going to know you better than you know yourself So a life of competitive slavery; marriage, mortgage, kids, career, sucking up to bosses that end up fucking you over When in the end you eventually get to the stage, where you just want everyone else to fuck off, have the house to yourself for the whole day to wallow in a state of furious masturbation Then the last chapter you do eventually end up going blind, a lifetime of furious masturbation or not, and then you die
