The state of israel was caused by zionist, within the US Government, who gave them massive weapons and nukes, and allowed them to go into the middle east and take over large portions of other peoples land. The State of Israel, does not deserve to exist as-is.

 

Nothing good ever came from the US's partnership with Israel. I heard that prior to 1945, that small Jewish communities existed in Palestine inside a Muslim state. I can't back that up 100% though. Sad thing is that were plenty of other places to relocate to that didn't require taking over other entire nations.

Well there have been some American right wingers that didn’t like Israel, but often that was because it was a Jewish state, and/or it was a malevolent component in one of their convoluted conspiracy theories.

 

Israel shills are bipartisan, balbus. Not many politicians seem to make it very far in their careers if they mutter anything anti-Israel.

You mean bipartisan – as in the two (bi) dominant parties – in the American context a basically right of centre party and a further right party.

As I’ve said there isn’t really a left wing presence in US politics it was basically purged from US society, that’s why right wingers think liberals are left wing,

Thing is that I’m not anti-Israel I’m against the policies undertaken by a number of governments of Israel.

 

Nobody around here gave any indication that Israel has anything to do with labeling/mislabeling it as strictly left wing support. Look around you, dude.

That’s far too simplistic often the many shades of right and left can agree on an issue – but they can disagree on how to tackle the issue.

And often the issues are not simple or clean cut, there are many political factions within Palestine - some are viewed at left wing others conservative and there are extremists on every side both Palestinian and Israeli.

Who would you support and why – what is to be done and how?

 

I don't know enough about it to take a position stronger than stating that I believe a two-state solution is the only reasonable option.

 

I'll tell you the truth. Do you want to know the truth? Hamas is the concept of a Jewish organization like Ba'hai, it takes mystifying pictures and videos and records of violence and propaganda. Thing is that you have a nuclear power in which many people believe they have a god given right to the land the Palestinians occupy. Telling them they can’t have it is like telling some American pro-gunners that they have to give up their guns for the betterment of society as a whole.

It is a big world, and there is a lot to learn about. Just because I'm willing to admit that I don't know enough to take a definite position on one of the most complicated and confusing international issues in the modern world does not mean I'm picking stances at random. In fact, it means the opposite.

OK I’m just trying to understand the motivation here are the ideas based on reflection and study or just something else?

As I’ve said many on the left have supported the Palestinian cause for 40 plus years and yes there have been genuine support coming from the right, but some of that has only been there because Israel is Jewish or that Israel was part of some conspiracy fantasy.

(I had one person that said Hitler was Jewish and his persecution of the Jews was a trick to gain sympathy for the Jews with the great powers so they would give them Israel and that was the reason why people should be against Israel)

When people say they don’t know anything about something but they have a definite stance on it, I wonder why.

 

The Palestinian-Israeli conflict isn't about religion as the media & pro-Israel propaganda mislead uninformed Americans to believe because it's so easy for them to make Palestinians the enemy by calling them all Muslim extremists/terrorists. It's about land & more importantly, basic human rights that Israel deprives Palestinians of.

 

Bullshit it's not about religion, it's in the fucking bible Christians must support Jews and Israel or they ain't g'wan up to heaben! All those people in the middle east look the same to me, tell me whats the difference? There is no such thing as an ethnic Jew, not anymore
