With Christians and why there are thousands of brands of this religion.

Which one is right? I think that the First Church of The Holy Spirit of Jesus of Nazareth is the correct one myself.

Well, any secular religion that claims that its
members are chosen people, dividng itself from
the rest of the population, is the wrong
    religion.
Which, from what I have seen, describes
    the majority of religions.
Why there are thousands of brands?
I dont know, people are power hungry? Bored?
    Self righteous?

The only correct religion would be direct
love for God, in my opinion. ~

I believe that everyone should follow the precepts of Timothy Leary.

The Chapel of Spiritual Discovery or Learyism.

Instead of "amen", we say "wow"...

Well, when we say Om, or Aum, this is
only after the initial mind bending realization
of the vibrating energy underlying all of
    existance.
The universe is a reverberation of this.
Which, of course I read about, but only
after a mushroom trip where I found God
in a sound, and Om came into my mind
as if I had always known this, then when
I asked about it I found that what I had
perceived on the sillycibon has been
felt by people for thousands of years.

I believe that Amen came from the same
concept of Aum, but that Christians have
forgotten/not been taught this for quite
    some serious time now.
Like, say, 2000 years, give or take.

    haha your awesome Lib.
Havent seen you in a minute!
But yes, I agree with you, no
matter what we say, when we
are in such awe at the amazing
    complexity and vastness of life
that all we can utter is a sound
like "wow", this, is truly connecting
    with God. ~

Newport 100, but Im trying to quit

Seriously though, I dont label myself with
anything, I mean hindu philosophy would
be the closest to mine, but I feel that
God is God and we are all equal.
I just want to love and share and help
people, no matter what religion or
    non-belief they consider themselves
    a part of.
But I did learn so much from the
Bhagavad Gita, and much hindu philosophy
ties into my own realizations (a lot
of which, of course, came automatically
with the use of LSD and magic mushrooms)
But that is what I find to be so profound,
this ancient Indian realizations are the
same as my modern realitzations, and
all it takes is a chemical to temporarily
give us the intuition and perception
that people have had such a long time ago.

I mean, mostly I rely on my feelings during
meditation to get closer to sat chit ananda
    but my experiences on psychedelics
were definitley a strong push in the
    right direction :)

Christianity can never complete it's mission.

    Bold statement, you say?

Christianity does not understand Jesus. They never have. Once the master left this life, his teachings became corrupted by people who were unable to carry them. They did the best they could and wrote things down from their limited point of view. It is this shallow understanding that is perpetuated in scriptures. The deeper meaning has been lost and it shows.

The true purpose of Christianity isn't to produce Christians, it's to produce Christs. Each and every one of you.

The path which Jesus described was not understood by those around him. They were just simple men who struggled with what Jesus was attempting to show them.

This path never changes. It has been the same from the beginning. Jesus was not the first or last to walk it and try to describe it to others. Most simply are not ready for it. They are too full of themselves and the world.

Christianity has made the mistake of turning Jesus into a deity. He wasn't. He was just as human as those who read this. The difference is that he had opened a door within himself that gave access to the "kingdom". That place from which we all come from. Where all things are known.

The term "Son of God" is given to those who have replaced the individual self with the divine self that exists in all people. It is not exclusive to Jesus, rather it is your birthright. But you have to earn the right to access it.

Do not worship Jesus. Just follow the path he pointed to. Be kind and compassionate to others and this path will reveal itself to you

If you stop and worship the roadsign, how will you ever complete your journey?

I cant agree with you any more.
    This is the absolute truth.
Where did you come from? lol Because so far
you are the only person whom I've heard on
this site describe exactly what I have been
    saying.
It is the Christ Conciousness that is inside
all of us already, as even Jesus Himself said
The Kingdom of God is within you.
Though I think much of St. John's testament
is fairly accurate, though MUCH more esoteric
than the majority of the world will ever give
    a thought to.
It's funny though, because there are enen
parts of the current Bible that Directly relate
to what both you and me are saying, without
being esoteric at all, in fact it is about as
blunt as one can put it across, and yet people
    STILL dont get it.
In another thread I described how Jesus most
likely put the Trinity across as
God the Father (the cosmic dreamer)
God the Son (the Christ conciousness we
    all can attaint to)
God the Holy Spirit (Aum, the underlying
    self sustaining, vibrational energy that
    we are a reverberation of.)

It's very simple, the way Jesus is portayed
as having acted clearly shows that He came
to give the message of divine love and to
teach us all how to meditate in order to get
    in direct contact with God.
God is not limited to the church and to a
chosen people, God is within all of us and
without all of us, it's up to us to open the
singular spiritual eye of truth, or to remain
as we are, self gratifying animals. ~

I follow no religion, but I do adhere to yogic principles.

As you know, in Hinduism, the atman is all important, whereas in Judeo/Christian beliefs, it is much further down the totem pole. It is not "worthy" of heaven as it is seen to be full of sin and imperfect.

    I know nothing of sin.

Perfection cannot be expressed fully while in human form because of the limitations of the body. But just as it is possible to stand in two states at once, it is possible to be in both in the body and in the spirit at the same time, just as Jesus was.

What is any spiritual path but an effort to clean one's self up before a king comes to visit?

This king will make you a king yourself if he likes what you've done with yourself.

Make the vessel ready. Empty out the personal "I", and watch what fills the void.

Yes the temple of the Soul.
The mind is an illusion anyway.
    Thought confuses and remains
    in delusions.
