One thing that always annoys me--- and I don't mean in this thread--- I mean with comedians and stuff sometimes (although thank God, I heard a black comic agree with me on this the other week...can't remember who though---but I'll get back to what he said in a sec.)--- so, what always annoys me is half of the time. Okay, MOST of the time when I hear stuff that white people do... I have never done any of them and most white people I know do not do them because the things listed aren't really stuff white people do but stuff rednecks do. White people and rednecks are not the same thing. Obviously. Anyways this black comic said something the other week like "those weren't things that white people do, those were things rednecks do".... In any case... just an observation.

 

Oh and there are black rednecks-in the south and stuff. I've seen them on tv. Haha.

But we are talking about races not rugs. There are 4 different races in asia. And there is a big difference between them. The orientals are nothing like indians and they arent much like. Arabs and they arent much like white people. Yes half of russia is in asia and have heard arguments about other countries bordering on the asian side with white people in it.

 

For a good summary, watch old episodes of MTV Jackass or a show called Freaks Of Nature on The Weather Channel. Those two shows are about as stupid and white as it gets.

Tell that to the self labeled black redneck from a few seasons ago on The Amazing Race. (look it up... if you type in that term into google you'll get his pic and yea, he's a black redneck from MS I believe... who hunts and fishes and does.... I don't know redneck things and calls himself a redneck...)

Anyways I can see you trying to argue or not that rednecks are ONLY white people (although tell that guy ^^^^ that...) but don't even try to tell me that EVERY white person is a redneck.

Apparently some people on there seem to have diff ideas of what redneck means than me and the people I Know around here seem to think... when I say redneck I don't mean everyone who lives in the woods or country or everyone who hunts or fishes or anything. But I mean people who do those things but are also trashy.... drink cheap beer outta cans... I don't know... act like white trash but worse. (Often have rebel flags on their trucks or whatnot).... yea.... those people....ANYWAYS, I don't have hate in my heart for anyone EXCEPT.... I must say... I don't like those kinds of people. You know, I also mean the type who hit their kids, beat their wives, just.... ew, yuck. Basically the way I see it is you can't have any class (any, whatsoever) and be a redneck. (but as mentioned before, apparently some ppl here have diff ideas on what a redneck is than I do...)
They are the one group of people I have anything against without knowing them personally.

 

I went fishing at a lake in a really rural part of my state last summer and I saw a black dude with a confederate flag towel. He sounded like a white redneck and I did a double take when I saw him because I heard his voice first.

So I can attest to what AT is saying. I also saw that amazing race episode haha. I loved the relationship between him and his white best friend.

 

Dude, redneck is not the preferred nomenclature...rural Americans, please!

 

Haha... yea those two were quite funny and I actually liked them both. I remember saying and thinking "there aren't black people like that around here"... haha you expected him to be white but yea him and his friend were fun.


Anyways... yea I'm glad you saw one of them in real life.... I really do think there are black rednecks out there. But they may not really be up north- I'm not sure.

 

when people joke about black people, we know we're not including urkle or Obama or Carltons or your black nerdy friend who plays vidjya games with you. Plus, I've seen some really fun 'white people' jokes that aren't redneck specific at all. Most good ones should be.

 

Well, I like hearing the ones that aren't redneck specific. I've heard some good... non redneck white ones... but I can't think of them now...

 

Eddie Murphy did a sketch on SNL in the early 80s where he studied how white people walk with a tight butt and how they read lots of Hallmark greeting cards. He then became a white person himself to see what it was like.
