Ok lets all get busy!Let's make a list of foods us vegetarian's love to eat.I cannot wait to hear your suggestions P.S you never know you might see all our fav foods in a magnificent cook book.
Beans + 'soya hot dogs', on toast Self explanatory. Grilled cheese sandwiches With ketchup, pickle or other condiment of choice. Soya bacon sandwiches Wholemeal bread [or white for purists], morningstar soya bacon and ketchup. Best served with a cup of tea or orange juice. (I eat this as a late breakfast) Spagetthi pesto When I say pesto I mean the kind that comes in a jar. Apparently you can make your own, but err why? Tastes great with some goats cheese grated on top. My other fave pesto dish is... penne pasta, pesto, sundried tomatoes and steamed asparagus. All stired together, good hot or cold. To be continued
Tomatoes. Stewed or raw or pretty much any way. Squash. For summer squash, I like it stewed or fried or raw in salads. For winter squash, I like it baked. Beans. Cooked all day in the crock pot with onion, cumin and red pepper. And, you can't forget to serve them with cornbread!
Stir-fry of course Veggie chilli Grilled veggie sandwiches + sprouts mmmm. Greek salad with olives, cucumber, red onion and feta The list is really endless.
Some ofwhat stir-fry: Rice veggies maralade sasame ginger w/ lemon Tofu Ramen I haven't tried that with tofu or ramen, But I bet it would be really good! Odd protein drink: 1 cup of Strawberrys 1 cup of grapes 1 cup of black berrys Chocolate flovered protein powder Ramen w/ butter Bagels el protein: Toasted bagel cooked egg thing with cheese ontop of bagel Its endless. I am going to try tofu and veggie bugers.
i like simple things... lemon juice , cucumbers, tomatoes and salt+pepper .. maybe a few bits of onion- this makes a great and refreshing salad for me. and tibetan noodles with tofu and vegetables.. i make a pasta with shredded tofu, onions, spices and tomato sauce.. its really good aswell.
if you use the noodles (yay cooks fast!) and not the packet it comes with yes, otherwise no. lol my friend Zenia got me into eating ramen noodles with ketchup and mustard on them. Believe it or not its good. mmmm Try ramen noodles with cut up carrots, peas, and whatever other veggies you can throw in... the veggies protein will be in the water and flavor it a bit. Just the ramen noodles on top of things is good... like adding it to tomato soup, potato soup... adds texture to something otherwise just liquidy for the most part.
ok now for some of my fav veggie foods... hummus, sprouts, and carrots sliced thinly on a pita snap peas... mmm in the pod and raw Veggie tacos... morningstar meat crumbles, tomatos, cheese (if veg) and lettuce all the ramen stuff I mentioned above potato soup baked potatoes... fruit with marshmellow dip tomato sandwiches.... oh god I can't stop and I'm pregnant and now craving food like crazy...ahhhh stop the madness. I need to get out of the food section.
I LOOOOOOOOOOOVE hummus!! Love it!! Cucumbers, pitas, tomatoes, pickles, carrots, these tasty spicy cajun crackers I get from Publix. mmmm.. now I'm hungry!

Can I just tell you or do I need to give you a recipe? Okay, well I'm not going to because I just want to tell you! 1) Vegetable samosa 2) Organic lemon yogurt with granola mixed in 3) Blueberry waffles with peanut butter on them
HOMEMADE veggie soup with lots of things like lentils and beans and barley. Oh yes. annnnd... I love black bean burritos... Stirfry, of course, with tons of broccoli in it. Or pineapple. Whole wheat bread with quinoa and oats and all that good stuff.. D Homemade too) I must agree with the veggie samosas too.. I nearly fell over the first time I had them, they were soooooooo good. I also love toasted tomato sandwiches, or toasted cucumber sandwiches. Annnnnd.. I'm a tofu chocolate "ice cream" fiend too. Or smoothies. Of any kind. Finally, either a tortilla or a pita with alfalfa sprouts on it, and then a rice/veggie pilaf or couscous/veggie type deal.
stir fry's are awesome satay tofu and rice chickpea enchiladas with salad lentil burgers on a bread roll with avocado, tomato, lettuce and sweet chilli sauce I really love snacking on cashews, dates and mandarins are really good here at this time of year.
