Last week my son got to watch someone pull in a 9 ft. Tiger Shark in Panama City Beach, Florida. It was caught from the fishing pier.

The sky looks so blue today. When I picture summer as a child, this is what the sky looks like.

I got in touch with the guy from state forestry service... I was right, my property was once in the system. Due to current size I don't have enough acreage to continue but he did send me part of the plan from 2008 that doesn't have any personal/private information. What I did get is a goldmine of information on existing species and soil types. What should be here and what shouldn't... There are also some recommendations on management plans.

I'm on my own though, there's no state programs for a property of only 8.5 acre.

I also contacted Zoning... The woodland designation is a tax based term and not something handled by Zoning. Again, it's not over 10 acre so there's no assistance or tax breaks through the Auditors office. Previous owners had adjacent parcels that allowed them options I don't have.

I still have the trees though...

That is a good thing to have! :)

I would imagine also knowing what should be there and not is going to be helpful if over time you want to bring it all back to natural. It is unfortunate though that they can not assist you with some of it as it sure would help make it more manageable.

Finally a nice cooler day here. It is nice to open the windows and not have to have the air running non stop for the humidity. House smells nice and fresh again!
