It's long overdue but the enemy is more than just big oil. The United States government is aiding and abetting the commission of a crime taking place on a global scale.

I am a great believer of strikes but I'm not sure if this action will have any effect on the costs of fuel. The truckers in France have done something like this on numerous occasions over the past 10 years or so. They actually blockaded the Channel crossing to Britain for arou and a week, about 4 years back. But all of their actions have actually not made a blind bit of difference.

Yes, it is fun. And the Revolution has got to start somewhere. It's only that I remember how the media coverage of the striking French truckers made average Joe think that they were selfish wankers.

This is a general comment about our government's role in driving up the price of crude. The purpose of our presence in Iraq is not to open the supply of crude but to stop a rogue government (Hussein) from flooding the market with the resource and driving the price down- thus cutting the profitability of it and preventing some influential oil company CEOs from gouging the economy.

In his 2006 state of the union address Chimpy Bush stated that he had a plan to break our addiction to foreign oil... and with most of the annual speeches he has paid lip service to helping out the economy... however he and his rubber stamp congress has done absolutely nothing useful about it.

At the local level, there is almost ZERO price competition as the government gives oil corporations a nod and a wink to fix the prices and rake in record profits. This is supposed to be illegal but by refusing to prosecute and by forcing people to buy gasoline in order to drive the government practices effective conspiratorial behavior in aiding and abetting big oil in stealing from every working man and woman in the country not only directly at the pump but also indirectly through every purchase whose price includes transportation costs- not to mention the price of HEATING OIL.

The CRIMINALS who have abetted this deserve nothing short of lengthy prison sentences.
