Lepptomania

Discussion in 'Cannabis Activism' started by Deleted member 1154, Apr 16, 2006.

  1. Lepptomania is a term first used by one Fred Gardener, who wrote in the "Anderson Valley Advertiser" about Eddy Lepp, and offered the following definition:

Lepptomania: Extreme stubborness in the belief that state law is soveriegn over federal law with respect to medical marijuana.

If anyone else out there is exhibiting signs of Lepptomania we are offering a forum to discuss your thoughts and work on these concepts together.

Here in Northern California, and increasingly around the world, Eddy Lepp is a front-runner in the Medical Marijuana Movement. Together with his lovely wife, Linda Senti, they have created Eddy's Medicinal Gardens and Ministry of Cannabis and Rastafari, which is located in Lake County, CA.

I first met Eddy in Amsterdam (Holland) during one of the many Cannabis Cup shows I have attended over the years as a reporter. His sincerity and the strength of his beliefs amazed me, and I was inspired to write at length about him the "International Cannagraphic Magazine," of which I was Editor-In-Chief.

Not many of you may have heard of this incredible person, but we plan to let you know a lot more about Eddy and the Ministry through this forum. The important thing is to work together on our shared belief that people have a right to use the herb in any way they wish as a gift from God. Especially as medicine, or for religious use.

    With one love,
    Payaso

I had never heard of Eddy until now and I think his story is a perfect example of the government's hipocracy and lack of human sympathy. They used him in (my opinion) an unjust war and then persecute him when he uses the only thing that eases the pain that they caused. People need to look at stories like Eddy's and realize that pot is not a harmful drug and needs to be legalized.

  4. Right on Trevor! It's an amazing thing, and Eddy says "if we only knew the real truth, we couldn't handle it."

So our goal is to print the real truth, and provide enough of it so that you know it's real. Then it's up to us all to handle it, as we all need to get a grip and handle things, not escape from them any longer.

The truth will set you free, and an education will help you clearly see the lies.

Any updates? I googled Lepp and got a slew of articles ( http://www.cannabisculture.ca/articles/4164.html - Feb 05 for example) but not sure what the latest word is.

All I can say is good luck and god bless to Eddy and his friends on trial, its going to be one hell of an up hill battle...

i vote to have this thread moved and re-stickyed in the cannabis activism forum

  7. I had started this thread there, but wanted a bit more attention for it. This is IMPORTANT stuff, but if you insist please advise :)

Meanwhile, I spent the day with Eddy and the crew up at Area 101 and got some great shots of Eddy expounding on "the truth." During this talk he revealed the title of an upcoming book, "You Can't Take the Truth, or the Definition of Onelove."

    Here he is...

  8. Latest Eddy Lepp update: April 17, 2006

Eddy Lepp is free now, facing serious charges with strength and courage like I have never seen before. This next week he will be at the NORML Convention in San Francisco fighting for the rights of RELIGIOUS and MEDICAL users of Cannabis. Eddy travels to conventions, fairs, special events and lectures about the sunject regularly.

Rev. Tom Brown will also be there distributing literature and educating the attendees as he can about the recent Supreme Court rulings and his knowledge is vast.

We plan to have more information here in this thread to chronicle the fight being led by Eddy's Ministry, and offer a schedule of events where you can see and hear Eddy Lepp speak. Some of his writings will make it to this site very soon as well, (as soon as they get typed in!), so keep posted for more!

  14. Well here I am in San Francisco at the NORML Conference absorbing the scene and trying to make sense of what is REALLY happening. Eddy says if we knew the truth we couldn't handle it, so I am figuring that out now.

Conventions are bogus in the first place for many reasons, but this one is incredible.

You'd figure a NORML Convention in San Francisco at the Holiday Inn Golden Gateway, images of protestors on the sidewalks and heavy security with DEA agents patrolling everywhere. It isn't like that at all... you walk into the lobby and there is no sign, no press, nothing but an 8.5 xs 11 inch piece of paper with "Today's Events" and a list of NORML's activities in the sub-basement...

The agents were there, some good old writers and pundits, some quite respectable faces from Robert Reich to the likes of Chris Conrad (editor of the Oaksterdam News) also Ed Rosenthal, Mike Corral and of course Eddy Lepp. A few displays clutter the hallway, they mostly offer books and educational pamphlets touting their viewpoints on marijuana and more.

Tommy Chong was there and spoke about his jail sentence, said he thought it was a joke to sell bongs with his name and face on them online... and then they tried to show his new film, AKA Tommy Chong. As soon as the lights went out, half the audience lit up, and the hotel management freaked out. They stopped the film, and kicked everyone out of the room. Much booing, but Tommy had already left the room anyway... he wasn't there to get wasted with the crowd.

I always feel kind of bad for people like him in a crowd, as soon as he showed up there was a crowd of at least 100 people or more trying to get his autograph and a picture... no peace for the famous at all is there.

I've got lots of notes to type, when I get home I'll write and post more, cause it was a very INTERESTING scene.
