Its such a sin they had to fight during the 70's and i bet after johns murder in 1980, paul wished it never had happened. despite all the fudes between each other i can bet a million dollars had john not been murdered, all 4 would have gotten back together. time heals all wounds, that being said if not in the 80's def. in the 90's they would have came up with new material
They probably would have had some sort of reunion. After all, the remaining three did and now the remaining two have. But it having ended when it did preserved the magic, I think, painful as it is to watch in Let It Be. I don't think that film got me quite as down as it did some people.
I don't think they would have gotten back together as a band. They were all adamant about that. Even if they occasionally got together to play on each other's CD's, they would never have become The Beatles again. I think Lennon made a very revealing remark in one interview I saw ... he said something to the effect that "Paul and I carved up the empire". In other words, despite their friendship which went back to their teen years, they were also powerful rivals. In addition, as George got older, he began to resent being the "silent Beatle". You can see that clearly in his post-Beatle interviews. I think their situation was a natural progression ... they were four strong personalities who grew to the point of wanting to live their own lives. You can't blame them for that.
I really don't find it THAT disappointing. Everything is right as it is. To me, that's sort of the message the Beatles were getting across as well.
I pretty much agree what caliente posted above... but...we never will know what would of happened... because Lennon was murdered by a madman. I agree....actually, there were many many nice moments in that film. I love ''Let It Be'' the album and movie.
There were rumours in 76 of them getting together as a group for some concerts but it all came to nothing. Part of me thinks that The Beatles wouldve played somewhere at some stage but thanks to that bastard Mark Chapman,we would never find out. Thanks Chapman.May you rot in hell. Not just cause he dashed millions of peoples hopes, but he killed John Lennon.Fuck it.
What happened, happened. The Lennon/McCartney feud occupied only a couple of years in the 70's. They were cool the rest of the time. The Beatles' music lived on. It was just released under the name of John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band, Paul McCartney/Wings, George Harrison and Ringo Starr and you had to buy it separately. If you decry my words as heresy, it's only what happened on The White Album, probably the greatest Beatles album ever produced and yet little more than a compilation of solo recordings.
