Im sick of looking at christmas trees and many other things now WITH THESE UGLY SMALL LED LIGHTS!!!!! I remember in the 80s and earlier when we had BEAUTIFUL COLOURED LIGHTS!! (Similar to those shown here) I cant stand looking @ our tree now,the lights are disgusting and not pleasant to look at! And these stupid cop cars with these LED lights... HORRIBLE!!!!!!!! Whats happend to this once beautiful place we called earth?? EVERYTHING HAS BECOME CHEAP/DISGUSTING GARBAGE and the worst thing is: PEOPLE ARE @ FAULT FOR THIS..... People didnt realise HOW GOOD we had it in the 80s and STAND UP FOR IT WHEN THINGS STARTED TO BE REPLACED WITH CRAP.. (Not that they could help it,most have been re-programmed to be willing pawns for the elite)
....what the fuck is wrong with LED's? I mean, you care about "this once beautiful place we called earth"..... LED's almost never burn out, and are very efficient... Where the fuck do you see LED's on christmas trees? those little bulbs are just little incandescents..... I guess maybe there's LED's if you're super high tech like OP, but I've never seen them. *edit* and another point for LED's for people who love earth... as drumminmama said, they make just about no heat, which, combined with the fact that they use just about no electricity, makes them pose just about no fire hazard.
Led lights save oodles of electricity and don't generate heat. For a little throwback, try reflectors behind every few bulbs. like these.
the town i work for is in the process of switching everything to LED, and all the christmas lights on the trees in the parks became LED this year. i think they actually look better.
On the C.F.L. s I think they look cool . The L.E.D. s look ok , and use a lot less watts . Its the L.E.D. flash lites that I have a problem with , all I have ever had dont last long . The switch messes up , or the battery holder gets croeded . When the L.E.D. first came out in the late 60s , I saw an add in an electronics mag for them . I was thinking about the signal dioeds and thought why would they want them to emmit light ? The c-9 or as in your pic the c 7 1/2 http://retrothing.typepad.com/.a/6a00d83452989a69e20147e0faa355970b-pi is a part of the past , like dial up modems , t.v.s with vacuum tubes , a car with a hand crank to start it , ect. desert rat
same here...all street lights are being switched they cost more at first...but last longer and use way less hydro plus the light is more efficient...it lights up the road its aimed at and theres way less wasted light out the sides..
Yea Leds last forever and use almost no electricity. They will help keep our beautiful earth much longer than normal high energy bulbs. I see what you are getting at though. The old bulbs have more of a soft soothing kind of glow, rather then the sharp intense glow of an Led light. Plus they just had more body, which gave the tree some thickness to it. But really don't get your panties all in bunch, look at much energy were saving! Dudddee... but I really want to know why a cop car's lights have to be sooooo bright that I can see them 3 miles down the road as if they were right in front of me. I mean seriously the little red bulb light worked for all those years, why do I need super high powered "rave lights" on top of the car? I know it helps you see when there like blocking off an intersection or something, but damn I just want to get some glow sticks and some dubstep and start raving everytime I pass a cop car!
cute little LED floating in the ocean headed to the pacific gyro.. awe they look like little jelly fish, aren't they cute..
theyre great for trailers too...i used to blow bulbs all the time on bumps and railway crossings...the filaments stretch easy when theyre hot...after installing leds...no more bulb changes the drawback is they dont produce enough heat to melt off the snow and need constant cleaning in the winter
lol Love the drawing, Justin. We upgraded our outdoor icicle lights to LEDs when they were 50% off after Christmas last year. I love them.
Hahahahahahahaha. That's funny. Why not just go back to the bulbs they used when I was a kid in the '60's. They were like the ones in your pic but twice as big, the sockets were big enough for a kid to stick their finger in and get shocked, the lights got so hot that if you accidentally touched one you got an instant 2nd degree burn, they would spontaneously burst into flames occasionally and if one bulb was out the entire string wouldn't work and you would spend an hour trying to find the dead bulb. :cuss: People didn't realize how good they had it back then. :xmastree:
If for no reason other than reduced fire risk, LEDs are a great idea here in Australia. Many people get a real pine tree (pinus radiata) from a tree farm, have it cut down and take it home. It then gets put in a bucket of water and decorated. There were many house fires in the early days of lights because the bulbs got hot, the tree is full of flammable oils and the ambient temperature in a pre-aircon house in Australia could easily hit 40C (about 105F) in summer. Couple that with metallic tinsel draped all over the lights, and....whoosh! I think LEDs are pretty much universal now on trees.
