hello, decided to start an led/cfl grow just to see what would happen-the pics show the progression over 21 days. The 3 more developed clones are nightshade-21 days flowering, the other 2 are himalaya gold-the larger is 14 days into flower, and the smaller, the smallest, is 3 days.In the flower tent are 2x90w illuminator ufo's, 3 all red glow panels-82w total, 36w of white led,105w of 5000k cfl, 130w of 2700k cfl, and 48w of 3000k T-5.The tent is 2'x2'x4' high. The last pic showsw the results of my all led grow-220w.

    Q. Have you grow under hids before? And have you notice any difference?

Thank you rocklobster- and IMHO hps-mh combo just cant be beat out by any other system at this time- for large grows that is, and in this culture high yields are what it's all about for most-esp cash croppers. But I've decide to go a little greener-because as you so correctly stated-we'll all be using leds some-day.peace

No doubt-right now the new led tech is just hitting the market- check out the LUMIGROW-this beast uses 5w diodes, where the ufo's only use 1w diodes, and in a short while ufo's may become obsolete-so all the left-overs will be distributed at a much lower cost-enabling more folks to benefit from this tech.Check out the massive price tag on the Lumigrow-1500US, no way.But I know curiosity will get the better of me once again, and it wont be long until I post a lumigrow grow journal-sucker that I am.

I got 2 of the 90w ufo's 1 each from two different manufacturers.

Bf is right in saying they aren't for big grows, first hung them in flower room along with existing 1KW Hps, didn't notice any difference, either in quality or quantity. Now they're hanging in the veg room over the flood tray, They don't seem to cover nearly as much area as they claim and one is redder than the other the redder one doesn't seem to work as well as the purple one, but I'm still working with them rather than rehanging the T-5's that were my main veg lights for couple of years.

All in all I'm not impressed with LEDs yet. The expense is not worth the savings in elctric bill if it takes more lights to grow the same number of plants, now this is just MHO after using them about 6 months:>)

yeah, small cabs only for now-I'd hate to see someone replace a working HID system with leds at this point- it's a hobby growers tek atm- and I dont believe any damn thing the manufacturers are saying-90w= 400w hps- on what freakin planet is that? Thanks for stopping in Natural, and keep in touch-peace

oh yeah the red ufo's suck big time-mine b urned out in less than 2 months-stay away from e-bay China Factory ufo's as well- I know a guy that tests these units and the one he had was rated at 90w-but the testing equiptment read at 65w-what kinda bs is that?
