Im asking without going through the emancipation process if I can legally move out of the state when im 17. Such as if my parent called the police would they force me to return home?

im trying to do the same thing, it would be alot of work to get you back, and if they do by the time all of that happens, you will be almost 18 probably.

wow. No that is not the case at all. My mother and I moved from oregon to texas last year, telling me we would return to oregon in November of this year. Now she is saying that we arent moving back and basically told me "deal with it". I have a girl that I love in oregon and plan to marry. Just wanted a question answered or at least pointed in the right direction. Dont think i deserve pointless flaming for that.

unless he plans on moving in with her. and if this girl's dad cares about her in the slightest, that will never happen.

sorry :( your mom fucked you over. make new friends, and if you want to marry this girl and she wants to marry you, waiting a year and a half to be together again is nothing, as you'll have the rest of your lives.
