leave it alone - the poetry version

swastikas and nazi salutes
its a normal day in the days of their youth
and the murder farm
the USA
the nightmare where they dream
is multidimensional cinema
where the guts are swpt away
by a bloke in overalls and a broom
he's more famous than your dad
even in your own living room
and he goes on telly
to say -"we're the best
thank fuck you dont live over there
its a mess they say
at least we have democracy"
then the images of someones war
make you realise thats real gore
and the bloodbath thats in your town
is somehow easier to deal with
it has to be, its outside your door
and thats the usa

 

A powerful wake up call. I wonder how many will really understand it.
