Do those types of tapes truly exist? J'adore le francais, mais I cant take the class anymore, on account of we lost funds for that. Repondez s'il vous plait, mes amoursss!!!
Yes, they truly exist, but I would't bet on the results......I've heard that there's a new tape coming soon ............. LEARN FRENCH IN ONE HOUR ....... I bet there's thousands of simpletons ready to buy it.....
I took french for 9 years in school, I still cant speak it properly, Je, Tu vous, il , elle nous vouz ARGGGG WHEN WILL IT STOP!
Tapes cost alot of money. There's online classes for free. http://www.frenchassistant.com/default.asp (Free, but need to register) http://www.bonjour.com/ (Mostly practical phrases) http://www.jump-gate.com/languages/french/ http://www.france-pub.com/french/index2.html (This one has homeworks) http://french.about.com/ (Not the best one) http://globegate.utm.edu/french/globegate_mirror/frlesson.html (Exhaustive) http://www.word2word.com/coursead.html#french (A big bunch of lists) Gosh I love google!
oh la vache.....pas du tout mignone, la fille en scène.....et le mec derrière doit avoir une belle voix de soprano....
It's romantic and sophisticated. Not dumb and rude like american english. (I say american, 'cause england's english is quite sophisticated.)
I don't think a language itself can be dumb (It took just as long to form as any other language, and are the Australians dumb too?) and rude. Some people are very dumb and very rude, but then aren't their people of all cultures who are?
Cockney...owned! There was a study that concluded that in all Britain, the people who speak the best English are from Inverness (that's in Scotland, in case you don't know). If you want a real language, look at turn of the century Scots. It rocks. To the threadstarter: French people who have lived their whole lives in France are still learning French, just like we're all still learning English. It is impossible to learn a language in a week. To get the best grips with a language, I'd say you need to go and live there. Classes are good too. I get a lot of opportunity to practise my French because I'm doing it at school.
French is a language that needs to be digested for a good year. Basic french or Holiday french is usually those one week express tapes. In France, they have the same letters as English but are pronounced slightly or mostly different. To really get to grips with French, one needs a year. Reccomending French Experience 1 book with tapes. Cost nearly 40 pounds but is worth every penny. I got mine from Harrods Waterstones in Knightsbridge. This book and tape set is by the BBC. There is also a second book, French Experience 2. I don't believe you can learn french in a week. Not proper french with grammar and other things. French is a complicated language so one needs more time.
i wouldn't call it impractical since 58.9 % of modern english is derived from french ..........but the again it may be impractical to someone who doesn't use it in everyday use .........by the way ,i used the word USE a few time just to show you ..........USE is old french ...and still used here
French is so bloody difficult. Letters like R, make it difficult and the grammer is completely wrong. Why put for example a ham sandwich as sandwich ham? Why can one not say good morning in French. Why is it just bonjour(Hello) If someone said hello to me, I would not be happy. germans can say good morning. How come the french dont? Learning french at present and I think Arabic would have been easier.
English English is not sophisticated. many Americans assume we still speak Shakespearian. Yet again, America impress us with their humour.
I find French easy to pick up but I suppose I have been learning it since about 5 or 6 years of age b/c I was taught it at school, and I still do French now. If you want to continue French, just do home study, it's fun! You can consider listening to French music studying... Well I do, anyhoo. I found http://www.french.about.com good as a compliment to other studies, such as my school and home study, but each to their own I guess. I'm babbling I'll stop now LMAO RobS, you deserve a high five!
