NYC already has plans to install them throughout the city, because its basically a light bulb that emits invisible light that won't even give you a sunburn, but can penetrate walls and provide 2gb/s or enough for two 4k videos at once. No cables or any of that crap, just light bulbs they mount on cellphone towers and wherever. The NSA wants to put them on drones and look right through your walls while, theoretically, it is possible to make a cellphone sized device that can see through your clothes from across the street.
