no, do you? I'm in 8th grade, but when I get to High school I'll take latin because I want to be a doctor. (a lot of medical things have latin roots)
Yes, I do and I love it! Anyway, I think it's great that you want to study latin and you are absolutly right: latin is the basis of a great number of scientific terms. Besides it helps you learn many things about Ancient Mediterranean Civilizations, which is really good for you academic skills and your personal development. Bona Fortuna! (Good luck!)
i have a latin text book and i started to get some of the basics down last summer, then school started up again and i havent gotten around to relearning and learn more yet, but some day i will. Especially since i want to go into botany and most of the botanical names are latin.
I really want to learn Latin as well as a few other ancient or 'dead' languages but Latin is definitely the first on the list. Not to mention I love Roman history.
I love Latin and the Roman history. Latin is a beautiful language...and when you start learning it, you see that everything about Latin makes perfect sense. It also improves your thinking and your logics. I only learned it for two years, but I am definately gonna study it again as soon as I find some time to do so.
I plan on studying it in college too. Everything about that time period is fascinating. It's the basis of our life as we know it. They figured out sewers, how to run hot baths, all kinds of amazing things, all thousands and thousands of years ago. Oh, if anyone tells you not to take it because of that dead language shit, don't listen because Latin is used with everything from grammar to medicine.
I know..I learned it in highschool for 2 years. Now I am a med student and it has turned out to be really helpful. I love it...not just the words, but also the grammar..it kinda all makes perfect sense.
