last house on the left (re-make)

just saw the 2009 re-make of the 1971 classic.
anyone else seen it and, what did you think of it?

 

i swim i i like to swim. lol i saw it with my friend and we both found it to be more of a comedy than horror

 

yeah, it did suck. the 1971 version is much, much better!

 

I liked it. I admit the original had a better revenge sequence (bj castration), but the microwave scene in the remake was pretty cool.

 

the remake was ok. the orginal is very old and had a very small budget. i enjoyed the revenge scene. it surely deserved to be remade because it was a brilliant premise, i can say the same with craven's other cult favorite the hills have eyes: )

 

The ad made it look like a horror film but it wasn't scary it was just disturbing. I brought a cute chick to see it and there were no scary parts for her to jump into my arms but there was a brutal rape and stabbing scene. Fuck this movie.

 

i.e. when you got back to your place, you slipped her "the date rape drugs of choice" Rohypnol

Remaking Last House on the Left seemed like a dubious proposition at best...yet somehow the new HOUSE works better than expected.

I saw the original and it was great. If they changed anything in the remake it was probably to water it down a bit so more people will go see it. Such a shame but a lot of directors these days do what they think will pull in the most viewers.

 

This was a great movie but i hated the rape scene

 

Thats what I figured...I havent seen the original.....

I didnt really like the rape scene in the remake but I hear then original has it also.....
