It was pathetic for McCain. Thought he might do better, but he's not much better than Palin at this point. If anything is clear tonight it's that McCain is not qualified anymore than Palin is. He wasn't even that great at instilling fear. Guess he just couldn't fight, fight, fight, or whoop ass. What I saw was a pathetic old man that couldn't even find an opportunity to bring up his war record.
His cheeks have been like that for years. You just noticed now? He had cancer removed from one of his cheeks a few years back and it caused his cheek to swell.
I thought he caught Obama on the ropes when he talked about negative campaigns...Stumbled a little bit there..
obama totally needs some speech coaching. he stuttered a lot and used the word ugh like 50 times. and everytime mccain made him made, he would pick his thumbs. anyone see that?
Not yet. Heard it on the radio. Will do though. Edit: I think he did that because he was attempting to make himself sound different than McCai - when he was basically saying the same thing...lol.
If anyone needed coaching it was McCain. But both of them need to understand that most working people earn a third or less than a plumber.
Listening and watching McCain was like watching Palin. You could almost see him bounce up and down in anticipation of a rehearsed talking point. It was sad actually. Obama was more poised, and prepared. Sorry folks but that's how it looked. McCain didn't have too many opportunities to bring in his war record. And Palin's child is a Down's Syndrome child, he's not autistic.
Autism, Down's Syndrome two totally different conditions. Both with histories of governmental inaction. I really think the autism lobby is going to be hot under the collar. but perhaps not. I think most families concerned with the condition of autism are above using their children as pawns in a political campaign. As are those in support of Down's Syndrome individuals.
Whenever he is not reading a Tele-prompter he usually sounds like that. His first word is always "look", followed by a pause, restate the question, pause, uh, first part of vague answer, uh, second part of vague answer, uh, third part of vague answer. "Look.....I understand.....that..the American people..are hurting.........Uh...What..this..country..needs......is change."
I couldn't believe when he brought up that stupid projector. Granted, $3 million or whatever seems excessive for what he described, but in contrast to the $700 billion bailout, it seems a little petty.
Didn't he say Autism and other special needs? She’ll be my partner. She understands reform. And, by the way, she also understands special-needs families. She understands that autism is on the rise, that we’ve got to find out what’s causing it, and we’ve got to reach out to these families, and help them, and give them the help they need as they raise these very special needs children. She understands that better than almost any American that I know. I’m proud of her.
It wasn't for one projector it was for a whole system and it never passed: http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/782/
Whatever it was, it sounded ridiculous when McCain brought it up AGAIN. Especially in light of other scandals and financial problems the country is experiencing.
Over the bailout, or the projector? Of course both their hands are dirty regarding the bailout. I am surprised that the dems did not capitalize on McCain initially saying that we need to stop spending taxpayer money bailing out banks. And then later changing his mind. They could have got him on not caring about the people, and for flip-flopping.
