Morality?
Surely this is a poll about acceptable use of language in a civil debate. To that point I would say that any base 'four letter' insult makes an argument void. Agression makes the argument flimsy. Smart Alec comments intended to descriminate {"bollocks", "Again rubbish", "You prick","you dumb schmuck"} makes the argument into vacuous nonsense. At this point I'll openly state that I have been culpable of saying "sit down little man", which didn't richly endear my point to the recipient!

Sure Fleassy, people say things in a heated moment (online) and, as you say, they are perhaps not needed. The sense of a secure anonymity of the internet gives some of us the temptation to be callous, rude and extremely ignorant of other's feelings. They wouldn't say such things to someone's face.
As a simple question of debating style; supposition, argument - counter argument. There are things that should and should not need to be said.

For my own purposes, I'm quite out of patience with nonsense mongers, agression junkies and endocrine slaves who are subjects the whim of their hormones.

I will be voting emphatically 'NO'.
