It wouldn't bother me as long as, as others have said, you weren't unemployed by choice and were searching for something else. I don't much care what your job is, either. As long as you can make your own way in life.

First things first 6-eyed. If it were me I'd worry first about finding a job and making sure all the financials were in order. That has to happen anyway so might as well put that on the top of your list. Then when it comes time to start dating again you'll have that off of your mind and will feel more at ease.

 

George Costanza is actually the perfect example of how his own attitude and perception is the primary factor ruining the chance on a relationship, not him being unemployed. But he might blame the unemployment most.
