Also having short nails can be beneficial for other things. I work in arboriculture and conservation and having short nails means less gunk gets caught in there!

I've never had anyone with long fingernails finger me before, but I've done it to a few girls and I have long nails. I can put up with fake nails up there, but they are MUCH thicker and dull so it's really hard to cut yourself with them unless they were recently done. Real nails are much thinner and easier to hurt yourself with.

 

I agree that fake nails are better, at least it seems that they would be. The are much smoother and perfectly rounded. On the other hand, they also can do some damage getting stuck in the folds and if you get going pretty fast they to can slip into a position of discomfort.

If by "fingering" you mean inserting your finger into the vagina, then yes. But if you mean stroking the clitoris, then it's possible to do that with long nails, depending on the angle of your hand and so on, so that's how women with long nails can do it without a problem.
