Hey guys, i just got my labret done wednesday, and im not sure if it should be doing what it's doing. right now he inside of it (my mouth) looks like it's healing over itself, the back round part almost has like a little home it can go in, then if i push on the front, it pops out of the hole and like i can feel it stretching the little skin that surrounding it. I talked to the guy that pierced me, and he said it's supposed to do that and will be fine as long as i push it out of there every once in a while, and if i dont, it will heal over and seal it in. also i asked him why the rod is so crooked, and he said it's cuz it's swollen, but like, it's pretty crooked in there....any comments/suggestions? BTW I wash it/clean it/care for it every single day and after i eat and drink etc... and the guy said it isnt infected....
sounds like it is just swelling. swelling should go down by the 5th or 6th day (on average i reckon). Has it gotten any better? The crookedness is a curly one.. it could have been the swelling, or perhaps it's been positioned to avoid too much tooth damage. I'm srry i cant offer more advice, but keep cleaning it as you are, and keep us posted on how it's going. Do salt-water soaks and it speeds up healing a lot, as u probably have been told.
Mine swelled up a little as well, just keep popping it back out & clean it often with a saltwater solution if your realy worried see your piercer
nahh it is 100% normal..that jagged skin on the outside is definitly normal..it is from the needle entering the lip...the piece on the inside is because the flat piece is adapting to the lip, and it always wears itself in that way to make sure it doesnt irritate it....dont worry about it sealing it under the skin, unless it gets very red or very sore. and also it is crooked because it is swollen....after it heals get it shortened and it will look more straight..any more questions feel free to pm me and i can help ya out.
When I got my labret done, It was badly swollen for almost a week (about 6 days) which sucks cuz I work in a call center, but it looked crooked and I had that thing where it seemed to be healing over on the inside. Its been 5 months now since I got it done and its completely straight and I love the piercing, it is the best! Just make sure to take care of it and follow all the directions from your piercer and you should be fine
