As of right now, he's only been charged. No conviction yet, and frankly I'd be surprised if he gets convicted with anything more than minor in possession of a firearm. He was running away, someone shot a handgun into the air, he turned around and shot the first person trying to grab for his weapon. I'm not seeing how is it murder.

Wisconsin and adjacent suburban Illinois have more than their fair share of racists and gun nuts, frequently the same people.
