Kurt Vonnegut - Galapagos

What your favorite Kurt Vonnegut book?
Galapagos is my favorite as of now, though I've only read a handful of them.

I liked this book. I read it quite a bit ago and saw it at the library so, I checked it out to read it again.

 

Galapagos was good, but Breakfast of Champions blew my mind.

 

It's been so long since I hit up a Vonnegut book, maybe it's time I do it again. Once for christmas my parents (or "Santa", I think) gave me a copy of Breakfast of Champions and Cat's Cradle. Both are insane and completely blew my 16-year-old stack. In fact when I applyed to college I made some inside joke about a drawing in BOC on the applications. Apparently I was a huge lit dork. Anyway somewhere along the line I got to thinking that I had like, surpassed Vonnegut or something, that it was a kid's thing, and now I realize how silly that was. It's pretty ageless and (oddly) timeless. I've been wanting to read Galapagos for a while, and Mother Night I hear is awesome.

vonnegut is one of my favorite authors. even though its a collection of short stories, welcome to the monkey house is my favorite work by him. breakfast of champions is fantastic and bluebeard is another good one...

 

cat's cradle is probably the most goodest...

I've read most of what Vonnegut has written over the years and I enjoy revisiting his work. I think my favorite is Player Piano.

 

i've read every book vonnegut has written... the man is a fucking genius...
like most of you, my favorite is breakfast of champions... that book is so powerful, i think it's only book that's ever made me cry...
of course cat's cradle comes in a close second... with all the religious bullshit that saturates all the news programs and what not, it was so refreshing to see that somebody out there thinks the same way i do, and made a bestselling book out of it!

 

i have to recommend 'welcome to the monkey house' though.... it's a collection of his more popular short stories.... some very powerful stuff in there

 

I read Cats cradle when I was 12 years old and I liked it, but hardly understood it I'm sure and now I can't even remember it, accept for the world being covered in ice and shit. I read slaughterhouse five that same year, 7th grade. I also read it in high school and last year. Love that book.

 

Dead Eye Dick or God Bless you Dr Kevorkian. I also love his short stories Bamboo Snuff box... It is hard to say I like them all.

 

galapagoes is the only vonnegut book i have read i think ..have it here in my collection
