i don't know... what the fuck it is... but i always remind myself of him, and other people have said i remind them of him. randomly. it's fuckin' bizarre. i wear flannel shirts a lot, but even without them. i'm not trying to say i am anything like him or that i neccesarily want to be... it's just there. a vibe. it used to be avril lavigne... i'd get that all the time. i still do occasionally, but now, it's kurt. i don't look like either, or act like either. strange shit. anyone else ever get randomass comparisons? (p.s. i love you all to pieces but seriously it's getting lame here...)
Since elementary everybody has said I look like snoop dogg some say warren g. I used to get annoyed but not anymore. Recently an older lady said i looked like snoop i smiled and she said you must get that a lot I just said yep. Maybe I'll get some of those groupies next time (just kiddin)
I generally get Keller Williams (weird... met him enough times and lives a few minutes up highway 17 from me), Timothy B. Schmidt of (bass player for the eagles), I've also gotten quite a likeness to old black musicians and I've gotten Garcia too. Actually, Chuck was really the first person to tell me that... then I got it from Meg's brother, before... then an entire group of people at a party said that last year, my friend ronnie. I never notice things like this and don't particularly care, but it is kinda weird how everyone picks the same few people to compare me to.
haha avril lavigne is sexy... i get Syd Barrett often from my friends and ppl who know him, and when i wear a jim morrison t-shirt. ppl are gonna say "why do you have a tshirt of yourself?"
with kurt it's just a vibe i guess, but one time in california i was walking down the street and this enormous guy is walking the opposite way... he saw me, stopped, pointed, and shouted "AVRIL LAVIGNE!!!"... and i got all confused, and he said "...you look like her..." and man, it would be cool to look like jesus.
Once a chick told me i look like Milla Jovovich, but hell i dont want to look like Milla Jovovich man! I look like myself and thats good enough
I get called jesus about 3 times a day. Coming in a close second is Jim Morrison, from when he had a beard. I also get Tom Hanks from castaway... or (movie star/musician) who had a beard at one point in time. I've even been called Keanu Reeves and was mistaken for Brett Farve at an ariport once. It seems like every time I meet someone they 'feel like they've seen me before'. And then they're just like, oh yeah you look like that guy who had a beard from blah blah. -Mike
God, I'd love to look like jesus... You know something, No fair/festival is complete without a guy dressed as jesus.
i think kurt cobain misrepresented himself cuz he wasn't a buddhist but he used the buddhist name for heaven
i don't think it's misrepresentation... i get yer point, but i think it did more for buddhism than it hurt it. maybe some kids got into it through wondering what the name meant...
i was in art class last year and a girl that was sitting next to me said i reminded her of a mid-70's John Lennon, which i took as a HUGE compliment i've also been compared to Jerry Garcia, and Jim Morrison
you might be right and he did help out buddhism a whole lot in gaining converts but i thought it would of been nice if he did a song he wasn't a buddhist so his message was clear
i think while he may not have been technically buddhist or real serious about it, or anything... if you listen to his lyrics it seems like he was influenced by it, consciously or not. as a person, i think he had a very buddhist outlook... just by nature... it's radical how even though this hasn't turned into a full fledged debate or anything it's so chill... usually when someone disagrees with someone else it's a lot more hostile. so kudos to you. <3
that's cuz i'm a buddhist... in addition to being a hippy and an avant guardian true, curt ideas were insightful... maybe he was an undercover buddhist and so i shouldn't be judging him
who knows? it's like how some people just ARE taoists without ever hearing of taoism... in any case... i think it's an awesome band name, and fits perfectly with their sound, and their "legacy", whatever you'd call it. p.s. you've been buddy-listed.
yea we learned about different religions in class and i think being buddhist would be pretty cool, besides the fact that your not supposed to do drugs.
