South Korean University Denies Development Of Killer Robots After Facing Boycott From AI Experts | HotHardware South Korea is facing a possible boycott by AI experts for supposedly designing killer robots. The idea that boycotting them will stop anything is laughable. Although chemical weapons like mustard gas have been banned by international treaty, they are still stock piled in enormous quantities. The same with the neutron bomb, which can kill an entire city or army, while the radiation dies down in just a few days and leaves all the buildings and equipment intact. The pentagon has been developing killer robots for decades and the AI experts might as well go vote for whoever advertises the most, like most Americans, and see if that makes any real difference.
Humanity requires so many technological miracles in the coming decades, just to avoid total catastrophe, its enough to make your head spin. The real problem is we are screwed without the robots and computers, because the entire world is now falling apart and billions of lives are at stake. According to the ecologists, global warming is rapidly reaching a turning point within the next two decades, when the shit will really start to hit the fan. Personally, I don't believe for one second that the robots and computers can screw it up any worse than we have.
