kitty acne

I took my kitty to the vet cause she had scabs all over around her mouth. She has kitty acne. Have you ever had a cat with thie problem.

Ya, they gave me acne cream for animals.

 

My mom's two cats (brother and sister) have kitty acne....she just uses some tea tree oil on the blemishes when they have a break out or a little zinc oxide and they go away in a few days.....just watch they dont start scratching at them.....when they scratch they get swollen and start looking like tumors. Good luck!

do you feed your cat out of a plastic dish? For some reason the oils in the food react differently with a plastic dish than with a glass one. I was feeding BJ from a plastic dish and he developed cat-ne. Vet told me to switch to a glass dish, so I did, and it cleared up.

 

No, the vet told be it is because of the weather that we have been having.

 

My sisters cat had that, and they said it was because of his plastic food dish too. Baby sis switched him to a stainless steel bowl, and he's not had any flare-ups since!
