well i didnt know where else to ask this, but has anyone heard of the Kirby vacuum coorporation and can tell me any stories about them?
Whatever you do...DO NOT sell vacuums from there...they totally rip you off and if you don't sell a certain amount, you're terminated. Kirby only sells their vacuums door-to-door...you cannot buy them in stores.
Hey I have a sixty year old Kirby in my closet. It died many years ago, but it was my granddad's he fell for the spiel and I can't bear to take it to the landfill. I swear by Hoovers, because they do suck!, but I won't be buying a new vacuum any time soon. If I buy one it will be at a yard sale.
dont work for Kirby! Its awful! here is a site that tells about their sales practises http://www.thevacuumheadquarters.com/
That's not true, there are two Kirby stores near me and you can simply walk in and buy one. I own a Kirby and was able to go to their store to buy exact replacement parts to repair mine. You can't do that with a Hoover. I feel they are heavy duty commercial grade vacuums that don't fall apart in a couple years like all the rest. The problem is that they weigh a ton and are only good for large carpeted areas, so you're going to need a different vacuum for everything else anyway. They're not practical for home use, but if you own a business with a lot of carpeted floor space then it's what you need.
