one of my friends told me that when you take over 7 doses of lsd in your lifetime your become legally insane. I dont really believe him but is this true or am i just hearing bullshit?
not true. if you have papers saying ur fukin nuts, your legally insane. Law has its hands in everything. I plead innocent by reason of insanity.
An insane persons commits murder. He has papers saying he's fukin nuts. He pleads insanity. Previous crazy papers get him a psych ward instead of ass raped in prison. He was "legally insane" and not "legally" responsible for his actions.
insane person, crazy papers, fuckin nuts...sounds like real legal vocabulary eh?...whatevs man...my brain is too fried to splain right now...read this http://erowid.org/chemicals/lsd/lsd_myth8.shtml that should answer everyones questions
That didn't say anything. All it said was the myth about taking 7 hits and being insane is false. And I agree. If you take 7 hits of acid, you are NOT legally insane. I was hoping I didn't have to bring this up, and I hope you don't make me give too much details but long story short, a good friend of mine is "legally insane". A good friend of mine accidentally shot another good friend in the face, killing him instantly. He got off with negligent homicide due to the fact he was mentally incapasitated "insane" at the time because he was on a high dose of LSD. Insane is a word we use to describe various mental health problems. The court system does not really deal with the term "insainity" as who can really say whats insane? The use words like mental health but its all the same. Legally mentally ill;Legally Insane One in the same.
i shoot people in the face sober only if the GLOCK is sidearmed and Dr Dre is playing. I have to have a bandana on too, or else i just dont feel comfortable... No but really, thats fucked up man. Im truely sorry something like that had to happen to your friend. Some peole should never take LSD. Things like that give the media such a different portayal of LSD than what it actually is, and no one needs to die because some other kid is a fucking basketcase and cant hold his shit, its unneccisary and wrong.
lol - my bro used to tell me this ALL the time!!! and if it's true, than everybody replying here is insane lol
I've heard this same rumor, and the reason I was given was because LSD never leaves your body it stays in your spine. That is not true, it doesn't stick around, so I can only assume the same about the legally insane thing. Sounds too strange to be true like something that makes a good rumor.
I wonder if this rumor came about because psychiatrists used to take it to "better understand" their patients when LSD first came around? That would make a little bit of sense, at least.
I was talking to my mum recently (who took lsd a lot in her day) and asked "mum, approximately how many trips have you actually had in your life?" to which she said "hmm.. About 40." ..she's not legally insane as far as I know so 7 should be ok! Plus I'm sure there are people here who have had more than that and are also fine, so ignore those false beliefs!
"insanity," as far as i'm aware, is not even a commonly used psychiatric term in this day and age. rather people are diagnosed with specific ailments according to the various symptoms they exhibit, and there are MANY conditions which would fall under the old fashioned label of "insanity." insanity is still used as a defense in court, however, but as far as i'm aware there is no legally set definition of insanity. rather, you set out to demonstrate that you were not of sound mind at the time of the offense - which may be easy or difficult depending on the condition and the offense. there is no longer any real medical definition of insanity that i know of, though i could be wrong. think of it this way - "idiot" used to be a technical term describing people falling within a certain range of intelligence, but it is now a colloquial expression referring to someone less bright than average. "insane" isn't QUITE there yet, but its getting there, only it refers to a somewhat different mental state than intelligence. there is also no legal definition of insanity, afaik, though it can be used as a defense. there is no law set out which gives a set of criteria which makes you insane. its possible that in the past someone who used LSD claimed to have been given it unintentionally and successfully pleaded insanity - which would set a precedent for claiming insanity with repeated use of psychedelics - but it is not law and has not been written out as such. regardless of the fact that a "hit" is not an actual measurement of quantity of LSD. its a single dose, but can vary from anywhere from 20 to 250µg. even if there WERE some prescribed quantity of LSD that would cause you to go insane in the view of the law or medicine, which there DEFINITELY is not, it would have to be measured by the microgram, not by the "hit"
