Has anybody seen or heard of this movie? My dad and I rented it a couple months ago from his recommendation, and I thought that overall, it was a pretty hilarious movie. It is a low-budget comedy from 1977, directed by John Landis (director of National Lampoon's Animal House) and written by Jim Abrahams, David Zucker, and Jerry Zucker (the screenwriters of Airplane!). The film has no plot, but is rather a collection of various skits, like Monty Python and the Meaning of Life, although the humor is very different from that of Monty Python. Some of the comedy is incredibly crude in nature, and generally it isn't as tasteful as that of Monty Python, but it is still a unique film and I would recommend it to anyone who hasn't seen it. Most of the skits had me laughing hard.
I love the KFM, I laughed so hard during "Catholic high school girls in trouble", "A fistful of Yen" and the daredevil skit. If you love that movie, check out Amazon Women from the Moon & The Groove Tube. they are both movies with various skits through out. Oh and as for Monty Python being tasteful, I have some of the MP albums... VERY Crude. I'm talking about things can't be said on tv STILL. You need totol consitwation...
Most of the skits were really lame and silly...only a select few were funny. I'm guessing "A fistful of Yen" was the Bruce Lee parody, I'd say that this skit made up for the rest. It's also the longest one, it's merely mockery and the hilarity is non-stop, I think I shed a tear or two when I watched this one.
Kentucky Fried Movie is one of my favorites. Its very dated, so a lot of the humor will be lost especially if you never saw other comedies from the era like Airplane!
