I agree! I lived in Kelowna from age 8 to age 16 and it SUCKED! Everyone judges you on your appearance and labels you. The only thing I miss about it are the beaches.
its funny - right after i posted this , i tracked down my friend ben here, he introduced me to some of his musician friends, and now life aint quite so shitty... but the town does have some social problems to deal with. the jury is back out on moving now.. i hate decisionmaking man. I can always pick the wrong horse.
but dissatisfaction wins.. i gave notice yesterday. Feels good. i wasnt very passionate about this job anyway. now i get another chance - succeed or fail. where to go what to do? so many possibilities.
I had the displeasure of moving to Kelowna after three years of living in England-what a shithole-two months and I was on my way to Calgary-The place is full of closed minded assholes-I literally hated every single second of that place...I wouldnt even go back for a visit.
Calgary is just as bad if you ask me. In a different way. Hicks and money is what Calgary is. Everybody that needs work in Canada goes to Ab. I plant rees there in the spring. Hit the koots or the Coast if you really wanna hang in some good places.

Everywhere ya go can be cool though. I like the beaches in and around Kelowna. I bet theres lotsa good people there too. My friend Chris used to live there. He's good people.
yeah... the whole start of this thread was mostly because i was having some problems with a coworker and some outside stress an shit - so i decided to quit my job and pursue other interests (basically snapped) . BUT, the week that i walked around after my notice, i realised i was going to have to be a pauper for a year pursuing a goal with no cash, which would suck. And i'm glad i stayed now too, because i got a separate project to work on, which is going to be so much more interesting than being a bee in the hive. hah, threatend to leave, and got to see some good shit in return. thanks boss. sooo, kelowna is still lame, but its not that lame. You just have to be able to enjoy what it has to offer. get underneath the surface crust of boobies and tans and highheels (and violent homeless addicts), too ? snowriders mtnbikers musicians , hackeysack players, anybody mostly happy with life, thats who i need to talk to. words are powerful these days . a dedicated slanderer could swing a heavy mallet against the side of a town. my work has been a type of slander campaign. my co worker is so stoned all the time that he doesnt process shit right sometimes, and then proceeds to give his twisted version to the boss (who's his brother). so i'm constantly in a logic fight to get back to the root of the problem. Doesnt happen too often, but when it does, holy f@#%, its maddening. anyway, tonights the night for a big talk. i think were all going out on the town, and it'll probably get brought up by me.
oh and by the way, the kootenay ice are putting up a good fight, and sagat is a damn good player with the 3sec remaining tie - ing goal, but the rockets are going to pound them tonight - my ride is on its way, and the game should be good.
I wonder if you're talking about my boyfriend Chris Schneider. We live in Nleosn now. He's got black dreads and some pretty fat tattoes on his arms. I dunno, there's a lot of Chris's. It's probs him though. We hate Kelowna so bad, his parents live there... ugh... it so wierd, I absolutly hate the drive there, but the drive back to nelson is always amazing. And the crackheads! Holy fuck! One of my favourite things to do there is drive by all the hookers!!! ahhhhh. now that's what I call fun. Cheers guys, Oh ya, whoever said move to vancouver is crazy, I havn't been to Van much, but from what I've heard, Kelowna's like a mini-van. get it!! haha. but seriously.
