Anyone here experienced the magic that is Kan'nal? They are based out of Boulder and amazing. The best way I can explain their music would be shamanic tribal fusion rock. They are touring right now, and will be at NedFest, and Earthdance I believe. If you have the means to see them, I highly recommend it. Their website is www.kannal.org
Kan'Nal freaking rocks. I can't say enough good about them. High energy, usually spot on (close to 100 shows including Lunar Fire and I have heard only a few dropped notes, all on breakouts), fire/light dancers, good messages in the lyrics, Gilly is a ripping drummer and Tierro is on the track to guitar god status. The band's weak spot performance-wise is Tzol...and that means there are no porblems here. Tzol is a strong, charasmatic stage presence and his writing is guarnteed to make you wake up, physically and mentally and spiritually. Terecita is the only person I look forward to raps from. Listen up, these folks are the next big thing. They are worthy of support. See the Web site and listen to/ view all you can. See kgnu.org and search for live performances, too. Of special import: "Gypsy" and "Venado." Damn.. I guess I'm going to Nedfest.. been trying to talk myself out of it for a week.
