President Trump and his allies are trying to brand Kamala Harris as a raving liberal. That's just not true. Like President Clinton, she's actually moderate, maybe even conservative. Like Clinton, she is associated with law enforcement. Being a former prosecutor herself. And as I tell people, issues that are thought to be liberal in this country, would just make you a moderate, or even conservative, in places like South America and Europe. And issues that define true conservativism here would be considered nutty in other places, dangerous even. Some people think Associate Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was a liberal. I never thought she was. I still think Harry Blackmun was always conservative. The court just changed around him. True, Ginsburg thought the right to privacy was found in the Constitution. But it is, it is. It's things like private gun ownership that definitely aren't. Plus, most modern constitutions have the right to privacy in them. People keep laboring under the delusion that there is a political Left in this country; there isn't. There's a Right wing, a Reich-wing, and a frothing-at-the-mouth, lunatic fringe far right which by comparison makes the Right look Liberal and the Reich-wing seem Centrist. There is no "Left" in the American polity today.
I consider Bernie Sanders middle of the road. His policies are what should be in a normally functioning democracy. Those policies are found all over Europe and would be considered centrist there. If most true lefties were allowed to organize into a party, like the Greens, but more socialist, then you'd see big changes. Of course lefties are not just cancelled, they were burned in the 60s, and today they are still more tracked than the J6 militias or there wouldn't have been a J6.
In the 1980's, Bernie Sanders would've been considered a pretty middle-of-the-road Democrat, and Barak Obama and Hillary Clinton would've been Reagan Republicans. Trump and his flying monkeys would've been dismissed as insane.
