I'm 17, and I was just wondering if I would be welcome to post in the 'Old Hippies' forum. There are some interesting topics, and everyone seems nicer than those in the 'Young Hippies' (not saying that the young hippies are rude or anything...)

    Everyone's welcome here.
    :)
Just because you're physically young does not mean you're not spiritually or mentally elder.
    Peace.

No, no, come on in. We need some young blood in here. Now, first of all, there's the washing - homebudz hates it when his overalls get starched, so try to watch that. The dishes - teepi prefers that you hand wash her set. The vaccuum cleaner broke last week so you'll have to use the broom - shameless_heifer is allergic to dust so schedule sweeping around her, okay? Diner is at seven, so you'll need to start prep work around five. earthfog really gets cranky when diner's late - believe me, you don't want to see earthfog cranky. oldwolf dearly loves a roaring fire to contemplate into after eating so be sure that you have a good supply of well-seasoned wood handy. angelgodiva is ALWAYS making cookies so you'll have to clean up the dishes smartly as she will need the kitchen - it would be nice if you gave her a hand.

Other than that, you're free to do what you want. We'll wake you at four am so you can get a good jump on feeding the goats, chickens, cows, collecting the eggs, milking the cows, etc. before it's time to start breakfast. Oh, yes, almost forgot - chop about two cords of wood - it's turning coolish.

Yay! We got a helper without arthritis!
Come in anytime, little sister, and make sure to come by the Kitchen Table from time to time, too.

Hey, Acid Queen, for some reason, you remind me of Tina Turner. ;)
    Where in Tejas you from?

Oh, I've never seen Tommy... haven't YET!! The Acid Queen is a reference to Grace Slick from Jefferson Airplane. :)

P.S. The album, "Tommy", is fantastic.. just to let you know, I HAVE heard the album! :)

When we ( the good earth commune) was paintin' the Airplane's sound studio on Fell St. in SF cira 72' Gracie had gone from acid to coke' she was more the Coke Queen Bitch of the Filmore and the Avalon Ball Room. Grace was corrupted by her fame and was often hatefull to her fans, like she was better then they were and she would spit on them from the stage. It was strange sometimes to try to connect the person with the music seein' the artist up close and personal. The music would send out a message of love, peace and togetherness but some of the "artists" were less then what they were puttin' out.
I have often wondered about this. Is someone a hippie because they're in a band and dress outragously and have long hair..or do they 'play' the part for the bucks and fame..what do they do with what we give them..are they giving back, are they helping the cause.. most are now corperations and have investments in other corperations, are they part of the solution or part of the problem. By supportin' them are we innocently fundin' corperations that undermind harmony and human life for the sake of money and power. We must have spent millions on LPs, tapes, CDs, and movies supporting these artists. Most o these groups stole their begenings from other peoples work'. I watched them do it on Hippy Hill in SF in 66'.
People would gather on 'The Hill" everyday and 'Jam'. Janis was thre, so was gracie and Canned Heat and CCR and many others. Jerry Garcia was there too. There were freeks with every kind of instrument known to mankind in the park. Everyone would join in the Jam Sessions and put in their contibutions and we'd all get F.U.B.A.R and crash where ya' fell like Coyote says. There was some pretty wild music made on that Hill. Later when the different ones grouped off and formed bands, you'd hear the music that was birthed in Golden Gate Park there on The Hill. It was a collective effort on the part of all the partisipants that contributed to the music and were the real story behind the super stardom that the groups were elevated to. If it weren't for the people there would be no money or fame for these ones. I don't know why I'm posting this, I suppose it's cuz of the lack of respect and conscideration mosts groups have for their fellow man. I seem to analize things more these days as I enter middle age, looking back on the way I was and the way I am now. I still hold my beliefs to be true as I did, but to whom I choose to listen to or "follow' has evolved into something deeper and more 'spiritual' than the hollow words to a song. A few lived it and vanished into the radiance of the meaning and lessons learned.
Even the Geart Bob Dylan was a plagerist. Waylon Jennings took Dylan under his tutelige(sp) and taught him how to make music and write songs. After Dylan got the hang of it he went out on his own ,taking Waylons music and a few of his songs and the rest is history, but the point is, that when Jessie (waylons wife) called Dylan when Waylon died to invite him to the furneral dylan would not accept her calls as he was too busy. Where's the LOVE that they sing of and the truth they claim to spread. "They cried' We love you Gracie as she looked upon them from her throne and said 'Fuck You Mutha Fuckers" and spat into the crowd of adoring fans.

    Sure SH.I'm curious.
What you just wrote has me thinking. My business partner was in the music business for 30 some odd years. He has a gold album too.It almost takes an act of god to get him to pick up a guitar anymore, even the Martin I gave him.He said the music biz is way too fucked up,two faced and back stabbing. He lost his love for music as a performer, and now just prefers to listen. The only time he plays now is when we have a family BBQ,and then we both jam.We have another friend/brother who makes his living writing, and playing the music for documentaries. He's an extremly talented musician, and it takes everything he has to get Del to play.Sigh.

That's a damn shame, budz. I don't think I could ever forsake my muse - even if I'd been through what your bro has been through. In fact, the experience would make me want to play for myself and my friends - just a bit of in-your-faces-you-fuckers.

It is a shame hearing that about Grace, but after the Levis commercial ya hadta figger something was going on that didn't ring true.

First off: I like to say what an inteligent man you are. High forhead and the lines across your forehead indicate very high IQ and stability. You appear to live in a basicly mild stress enviroment as your intestines are not in a knot between your eyebrows.Your eyes so kindness and merriment in the corners. Your nose looks straight as to indicate no major spinal ,maybe some left leg involvement. I do see some trash in you kidneys mostly your left one. Some lemon water would help there and maybe some lemongrass tea (if your into teas). You have a strong sex drive but dont drive a lot lately as indicated by thick bushy eyebrows that then fades out towards the end.. I see a mild inharet heart from your mother: puffy left eyelid but not a heart problem.. A general cleanse is needed to bring out the blue in your eye. I see some lung involvement maybe due to smoking and late nights. You look pretty healthy all in all and not too much stress. Your yin and yang seem to be in balance.. looks good sweetie.. I was suprized by how well you look..being a ricus biker n all..:). Hoe you injoyed it.. for a more detailed interpratation I need a close up of your eyes.. Brightest Blessings ..
