Just out of interest.......

...why was Treehouse banned? I've checked the posts leading up the days of his banning and they don't seem to really grossly flout the forum rules so I'm wondering if perhaps there was some other reason. I myself didn't find his posts particularly attractive (I didn't agree with many of his opinions) but I didn't loathe him as a poster. I'm just curious.

Yeah, consensus was that he should be banned, too much trolling and he derailed almost every thread he joined. I'd warned him several times, but he was disrupting the forum too much....

 

Peace Phoenix was totally right in banning him... he was breaking a lot of rules and causing problems...


It's not nice to have to do... but some times it's needed

Yes, the problem wasn't that he was being offensive and expressing unpleasant points of view. Whatever anyone thinks of his opinions, he has every right to express them here. The problem was that he was using every opportunity in any thread he could to drag the topic onto Iraq. If he'd confined his rants to threads where Iraq was actually under discussion, or started new threads specifically on that topic, then I personally wouldn't have seen any need to ban him. There's plenty of people who I disagree strongly with, and even one or two who I just dislike. Doesn't mean I think they deserve banning though.
