just getting started

    hi all need a little help, after i germinat a seed do i have to put in a small pot then transplant it,or can i just put it in a 3gallon pot and not have to worry about tranplanting it also when do i start a 24 hour light when the seed sprouts? thank you

    Thats down to the growers preference. If you put it straight into the 3 gallon pot it saves stressing the plant more than is necessary. Just my preference. You can start 24 hrs of light straight away, but depending on what type of light you are using keep it quite high lowering it a couple of inches a day. For a 400W HPS start at about 2 and a half feet. Flourescants don't give of much heat so they can be put at a few inches almost straight away.

    Yeah, I am with bafoonman. The less stress the plant has over its life the better. However if you plant a large number of seed and plan to picking the best ones then smaller pots might be a better idea.

    then I would deffinetly put them in the bigger containers. They will love you for it in the long run.

    ya, its better to start them off in the biggest pots tht way you dont have to gothrough the prosess of re-poytting the plants, it will cut time on that,, and on the time for the plants to recover from the transplant.
