I'm starting to think we need to add a hall of shame up here for certain sellers/traders/swappers that are stealing, cheating adn not following through. I was recently informed that someone going by the name of Mystical Moon Rags was caught using my images for her pads on two of her sites, which have now been shut down. She was also using my images under the name Mystic Cloth Pads. I contacted her and told her I wanted the images removed from her sites, to which she replied that they were her images. She was using the picture of my purple and grey flannel pantyliners on one site and a picture of my regular pads in navy blue on her other site. She eventually took them down after another group I am with contacted her. Now her sites are gone, but that doesn't mean she won't be back and possibly taking other people's images or mine again. I never would have known if another Etsy seller hadn't informed me of her sites. I hope we can all look out for eachother and inform the forums whenever we come across people who steal hardworking mama and papa's images or work. So maybe the admins will allow us to put a sticky thread up of names of people we need to be warned about. Thanks
I am glad she got caught. that really sucks that someone would steal pictures to sell stuff as thier own. It makes you wonder where they got the idea that that was ok, and if they are taking money for the items and then not delivering. I think that that is a great idea, to put up a sticky with suspect sellers in it.
aww, hipmoon that sucks. i don't know why people try to pull shit like that! bad karma for them. i think that your idea about the sticky threads is great. people definitly need to be aware of these scammers.
here are a couple of links for tutorials on watermaking photos: http://www.sumrallworks.com/TheButtonHole/psp/tutorials/watermark/ http://www.hypergurl.com/watermark.html hope this helps
even easier: put your name right across the image with a copyright mark/note. To reuse it would show intent to defraud and THAT equals lost revenue damages in federal court!
