Johnny Cash-now thats true country! I hate that shit on the radio now-but I hate all the shit on the radio. Cash was so bad ass. I love the covers he did of Hurt, Desperado, Im so lonesome I could cry, and In my Life. Such a sad day when he passed-one of the only times i was teary eyed over a musician dying. May he rest in peace. You are deeply loved and will live on through your music and your many fans...
i tie for my fav. cash songs between his covers of hurt and redemption song. cash is real guy, he coulda beat the shit out of garth brookes
johnny cash is awesome.... i also love me some willie nelson.... whiskey river is one of the fattest jams i have ever heard....
damn smokey, you really know some good music! Cash was a total badass and he will always be a legend. humandraydel
He did redemption song-what album is that on?? I hafta have that!!! I have Yonder Mountain String Band covering Ring of Fire(Mountian Tracks Vol. 3) -so bad ass. And fuck yea-Cash could kick any country singers ass thats out today. Cash, Nelson, Jennings, Williams-now those are true country folk.
"Every man knows he is a sissy compared to Johnny Cash"-Bono "If god had a voice, it'd be that of Johnny Cash"
if you guys like johnny cash, you should check out merle haggard...his lyrics aren't as introspective but sometimes pretty funny...my favorite haggard song is okie from muskogee, it's absolutely hilarious even though its of course not meant to be...he talks about hippies also you should listen to johnny cash's sunday morning coming down, which is brilliant
I hate Johnny Cash's cover of "i'm so lonesome i could cry". Not because i perfer Hank's version but because of the jackass who is singing with him.
Since we're talking about decent country music, I have to mention Gram Parsons. He was already a long haired badass, not really he was more peaceful, anyway, he was a great performer and guitarist.
