Despite I'm not longer a catholic myself, but i have always respected John Paul II, and more so now. He's now living his final hours and it really saddens me. My grandfather died of parkinson's desease about 7 years ago, and i can frankly say it's a cruel illness, I witnessed my grandfather suffer a slow death.
what are your thoughts about John Paul II, even if you are not a catholic.

I honestly do not know much about John Paul II, but he is obviously an important man. The catholic community is by no means small. Lots of people will be affected by his death.

I am not catholic, or even christian, but I am still capable of understanding what kind of impact this has/is going to have on people all over the world. It is a big event when a religious leader passes, and I feel everyone's sorrow.

I have a feeling that the next pope that comes into "power" will change the world somehow. It's due time that the catholic church starts to change and the passing of John Paul II will be the catalyst for it.

I've always felt the guy was off his rocker to tell you the truth.

I have no faith whatsoever in the crazed and distorted story of the Christ or the rest of the non-sense in the bible.

Interesting stories of ancient insanity as told by a bunch of guys who knew the terrain well.

As for holding it to heart; Nah!

I find no delight in watching the poor bastard choke every night on television but what the hell... shit happens!

Remember what Willam Burroughs said... "Never enter a church. The only key those bastards have is to the shit house."

Remember what else William Burrough said... If you ever do business with a religious son of a bitch, get it in writing!"

Did I say I don't care? I do care. It drives me out of my mind watching that poor tormented bastard showing his face at the window of the Vatican every night on the evening news.

It's just that I wouldn't trust the son of a bitch for as far as I could throw him.

My apologies, the Vatican is denying earlier reports that he had died, they now say he is "clinging to life".

It's as if the Pope wanted to play one last April Fool's joke on us all!
