I've been listening to his cd Bane. This is some crazy, heady, bassy shit. It'll make your head split in two and tie your butt in a knot. Weird thing, it was recorded over a 30 year period, but the cd sounds like one long song. Bass fans out there have to check this out. Does anyone know of other projects/bands/albums this guy has been involved with? He has a funny website, http://www.joeyarkenstat.com/# (check out the "Meanpage" - its hillarious ) but I can't find any history of this guy. Its like he's been playing alone in his bedroom for the last 30 years.
Hahaha, I'm slow. Now that you said that I found an article on jambands.com about that. That's crazy, it doesn't sound anything at all like Mike. Fictional or not, this stuff is nuts.
hahahaha, I'm such a dork. :& The whole phish world was in this secret but me. Anyways, if you like the bass and Les Claypool (or, apparently Mike Gordon), or if you like weird-ass music that makes you feel like weevils are boring into your skull, then you should check this cd out. I like it better than Inside In.
mike can do nearly anything on a bass that any other bassist alive can do... remember that... and think about mikes sense of humor
