I have a job interview tomorrow at my local natural food store... i reallly want the job because it's close by and the hours would work PERFECTLY with my going to college... plus i love the store and they give good employee discounts...

im really nervous so anyone got any interview tips? i guess the main area that i want advice on is how to appear NOT nervous when you are. i dont like meeting new people when i know im being evaluated- scares the shit outta me and i think they can tell. any other advice will be apprieciatted as well.

i know to appear that i want the job a lot but not desperate and to kinda, subtly mimmick the interviewer- sit how they sit, talk how they talk, etc.- and to smile and be friendly but anything else....?????

um, criminal history? doubt it. they only asked like four questions on the "application" so yeah...

interval, i totally hear you. i hate interviews of any kind, they make me crazy.
the only advice i can think of is to stay busy before the interview,
..watch a movie or go out and feed the ducks.
if you just hang around the house, you'll get yourself too worried and worked up.

remember to breathe deeply (it does make a difference!) and remember,
it doesn't matter if you don't get the job. it's not that important.
just smile and try to feel peaceful.

    :)

but you're definantly right. my nerves just- i dont know, i always worry that im gonna say something stupid, which i tend to do a lot.

but yeah, i guess its just one of those things that you really shouldnt THINK about too much just just DO.

I hear you too.. I'm nervous as hell about job interviews, the first time I had a panic attack an hour or so before. I've gotten better though, by learning to build self-confidence.

What I'd advise is that you just stay positive, if they don't like you.. oh well they suck!! lol - try to think of yourself as the best person they're ever gonna meet - I know, it's hard when you're shy, but, try!

    I'm sure you'll do great :)
    ((((((((((((((good vibes toward you))))))))))))))))))

Why be nervous? It's only for a natural foods store. You're not interviewing to be Peter Jennings' replacement.

Interviews used to make me nervous, but I am so over that shit. I am not afraid of anybody, or what they might think of me. All I can do is laugh at life and all its bullshit.

JUST BE YOURSELF! HAVE SOME SELF-CONFIDENCE!

They run a natural food store. Chances are they are very cool people.
    So don't sweat it.

Yeah, even if it isn't your nature to be confident and outgoing, play the role without NOT being yourself... In other words, amplify yourself. Don't get crazy but appear interested and ask more questions and comment about things more than you normally would. If you can talk to the interviewer and make them feel like you are a friendly guy just looking for a decent job, they will remember you. They may ask you why you want to work there - have an answer for this, or even name an idea you helped implement effectively at previous jobs. Just be ready to show that you are capable of learning quickly and have no fear of trying new things and learning from it.

    Good luck on the interview!

just listen to your heart and let it guide you. every job interviewer is different so you have to adjust accordingly, y'know? and dont eat too much before hand. sounds like it'd be an awesome job for you though, good luck and let us know how it goes :)
