Just bought tickets to see him up at the Edinburgh Festival. I'm going to be up there watching my sister in her play and a friend with her dance company so it's just a fantastic coincidence that he's going to be up there at the same time. Although it's not that fantastic since I could go and see him in Soho any time I want to it seems. Well up for it though!
Certainly is, although his stuff on telly is attrocious and it quite understandably puts a lot of people off him. I've seen his Live Video though and can't wait to go and see him!
I've heard of Dave Gorman but have no idea what he looks like or what his standup is like. Jimmy Carr's got quite a few shows on at the moment - maybe there'll be one not too far from you if you go to his site. I know he's got quite a few shows on in Soho - you could make a special night of it or something, go down there with your bloke or whatever and have eat in a swanky restaurant, go and see jimmy, hit the club of your choice and crash in a hotel.
that sounds like a wicked night troulbe is were both skint right now...yeh jimmy was in leicester, where im at just a few months ago but i missed him!! so so rubbishy! dave gorman is wicked...you should check out his live vid, hes a scrawny little white bloke..very clever and funny...did a whole load of stuff on google whacking..its ace
Oh, did he do the rather risqué website about something or other involving sex that he cobbled together and used feedback from visitors in his show? Or was that someone else? It escapes my memory.
You might be thinking of "Talking Cock" by Richard Herring, which was an Edinburgh stand-up show about penises, based on submissions to a website questionnaire.
That's the fella, though they don't work together anymore. Stewart Lee of course went on to co-write Jerry Springer: The Opera.
Oh right. That was actually a class piece of work. Not quite an opera but more than just a musical and musically very sophisticaed. Also very witty in places with an important message. Oh and I don't buy all that scheidt from the Loonies who claim to be Christian. For one thing if they really were Christian they wouldn't be giving everyone all the grief that they'd inflicted upon so many people. I mean I ask you, forcing a charity to refuse a donation! And anyway, they had no grounds for complaint. I mean a throwaway line about Jesus saying he might be a little bit gay. It's not important and it's not an attempt to change anyone's perception of Jesus, and these lunatics seem to be suggesting that there's something wrong with being gay anyway! Jesus also admitted to being a little bit Jewish all over the new testament but these 'Christians' who claim that Jews are by default going to hell never seem to worry about that, do they! But I'm sure there's been plenty of discussion about Jerry Springer the Opera already. Getting back to Jimmy Carr and/or Edinburgh, anybody else going to either or both?
