Jimi's "star Spangled Banner" fuckin rocks (I don't care how many people have said this cause it's true). I saw an interview (on a videotape i watched at the library at my college) of someone (mabye Arlo Guthrie?) saying that Woodstock (and especially Jimi's "Star Spangeld Banner") was not about drugs, sex and rock n roll. It was about peace, love, ending racism, and ending the Vietnam War. Anyone agree?

totally agree, except rock n roll...that was defintly the main theme for that great weekend. Having drugs on you was like breathing air at the time, to normal to think of it as a problem.

well no one can honestly tell me that woodstock was about peace and love. I would say the majority of people there were there to get high or to get laid, and listen to some music. period.

yeah but from what i heard, there were no trouble makers or no problems with anyone, which kinda goes with the peace feel, in a sense

lots of things happened at woodstock, and while it started about music it quickly became about the people there. People were born there, a few died there, and they were all there to just be together.

Dont forget that granola was introduced to a lot of people at woodstock, and just look at what that one aspect of it has grown into.

personally, i dont think the woodstock is jimis best Star Spangled Banner, but it has alot of feeling, and is the one so many folks know.
