I don't know. I've been having thoughts lately about how everything we do isn't really us, our brains control everything, control what we think and what pops in to our head, controls what we see and touch and smell, and every other aspect of our life. And everyone has a brain, so everyone is being controlled, unless of course you look at it as if we actually have spirits, and the spirits are simply using our brains and bodies to communicate think and learn, in which case that would make sense. I don't know, though, life seems so fucked up. Just be happy.

I think Jimi along with lennon and others at that time played the world is out to get us card too much, I love his music but I just think at the time being against the war was the rebellious thing to do and he did his part to make it cool. Alot like it is today where everytime we go to war every musician feels like they have to write a song to be for the war when it first starts but as it drags on and people stop caring then its time to write another song to be against it.

How many musicians are speaking out radically?

Rage against the machine got their concert unplugged and shut down not too long ago.

    ahem.

That doesnt surprise me, The guys in Rage and U2 have always been very outspoken when it comes to politics and world events. While I respect them for using their platform for a good cause, sometimes people just want music to escape all of the bad in the world.

He's right, but he also told a reporter once "I'm From Mars"

Stuck in a snowdrift in upstate new york one winter in 1965, he feared he and the band would freeze to death, until a cone-shaped craft landed and aliens freed their vehicle from the snow

    I read that.

he claimed he remembered a lot of his past lives, and even said that he remembers a past life in which he was a flying horse.

you can read about the Curtis Knights alien story right here, from his book. Jimi played in Curtis's band before fame.

    Thanks [IMG]

Wherever he is we can only hope he's traveling from one star system to another, playing before sold-out audiences, and smoking the finest shit in the cosmos :cheers2:

Jimi played in Curtis's band....their most interesting song is definitely Ballad of Jimi, in 1965. the lyrics are

"On that first day he played my guitar
Somehow I knew he'd travel far
    Many things he would try
For he knew soon he'd die
That is my story, It has no end
Tho' Jimi's gone, He's not alone
    His memory still lingers on
    Five years, this he said
He's not gone, He's just dead"

the story goes, in 65', Curtis Knight had a dream in which encountered Jimi, and he said
" Curtis, I want to tell you something. It is now 1965, and I will be dead in five year's time....but while I am here I will travel many highways, and I will, of necessity, die at a time when my message of love, peace and freedom can be shared with people all over the world ".

Curtis wrote the lyrics right after that, and him and Hendrix recorded it.

sure enough, he died 5 years later. he always did say he wouldn't live to see 28. far as his death, I really don't even want to get into that, but I can say for sure there was foul play.

    neat, huh?

the world is a pointless occurence of life...it can be filled with meaning by the living however. So much so pure coincidences can be an answer. Human's have created a joke called reality however and we're pushed "forward". When an individuals answer actually lies in the individual. You have to be smart enough to atleast recognize the joke if not escape it.

I'm figuring out...recognizing the joke is the key to doing anything you want. Or to be more responsible for your realities and symbols.
