Okay i never see on this glorious forum anything about Jim Morrison he was the image of rock and roll. An amazing poet and again the image of Rock and Roll. His Poetry is amazing and his music changed the way we thought about rock and roll and the blues. With such hits like Light my Fire, Break on through to the other side, Not to Touch the earth. Just to name a few so who agrees with me please i welcome all comments about this amazing and unusual rock and roll god!

But all things aside... I agree he is amazing. He is truly amazing and despite what some may say an insipiration to many. I think that his music left an unerasable mark on rock and roll. He is and always will be an inspiration to me. He is an undenyable force that will continue to rock the music world for many MANY more years to come.

yeah i hope i want people to remember how important he is to music than just the beatles, Micheal Jackson, and Elvis cuz jim morrison is just as important. Im not saying any of them are bad at all i love all three of them i just want people to know there are many more band and singers that are just as important as them

Alright Doc.......I'm there with ya.....I have always been a big Doors fan from the late 60s until now. I remember buying L.A. Woman the day it was released. Jim is definitely on my top 10 list with creativity, power, sound, and overall greatness....and all of that with a small band.

No band was anything like the Doors......no one...they were one of a kind.;)

Maybe cos there were (and are) too much threads about Morrison discussed 1000 times :)

Anyway, I respect him in some way although I dislike some bad side of his personality. But his poetry is amazing, singing so distinctive, his velvet voice so relaxing. I also love the idea of a rock´n´roll theatre which comes from his thoughts. But don´t like when people talk about Doors music like about Morrison´s music. There were all pretty great musicians and composers.

Oh well, here comes the voice of dissent, then...

I never got into the Doors, to me they always sounded a bit too...sterile ? Too calculated, like they were jumping on the '60s bandwagon rather than plowing their own furrow.

Bits of the "American Prayer" album were Ok, though - "Ghost Dance", etc.

Yeah, same here. I even kind of get the adolescent feeling to disagree with the majority when I see all this Jimbo worshipping :p :D. Not saying he wasn't good or something but it was a band, man. And without the rest we may never have heard of him at all.
