I brought this up in this forum before many years ago. Think about it. He loved life, people, nature, and was opposed to the society the way it was running at that time. He lived simply and traveled around spreading good cheer and good news. His hair was long and had a beard. Yes, I know, it was common in those days, but, he did not follow societies ways. He basically did his own thing and was against war and wanted peace for all. So, there you have it, what's your thoughts on the subject. Peace, Flower Child 2
Yeah, and he did say, "blessed are the peacemakers". I always say that if Jesus comes back tomorrow, and walks into a room full of Christian conservatives, before He can say a word, they'll all say: "Get out, you dirty hippie!".
"I don't know if I want white america to remember or to forget that Jesus Christ was the first nonviolent revolutionary." [Steve Stills] dig it
I heard someone say it before, that Jesus was the original hippie.I would tend to agree.flower child 2 said it all in the opening post.I agree 100%. Jesus the peacemaker. He never preached a word of hate just a message of love.
That sweet quote. And Jesus was the original hippie/peaceful revolutionary. Like you see those war pigs and soldiers saying God is on our side and you think "God is on neither side He hates both of the sides' actions"
He believed what he believed without following local dogma of the time. Basically he wasn't a Christian, since Christianity didn't exist yet, and he really didn't follow all of the traditions of Judaism either. Paganism, in most contexts, mean non-Christians. But he was also a magician and mystic, which mosts Pagans relate to.
I love this graphic. It's so true. Not only the government, but education, medical and the media. We are told we don't have the brains to make choices ourself, and we need someone else to tell us what to do... This might be the wrong thread for this, but I'm so fired up!
^^^ Thank you, thank you. I quite like it too especially for a presidential election year (and Fourth of July weekend).
i completely agree. conservatives have the right idea to follow the ways of Jesus, but they've thrown out the love and understanding for all people, not just those who agree with them or aren't gay or something. it's very sad. for crying out loud, Jesus hung out with pharisees, prostitutes, and zealots (religious terrorists of the day). when was the last time you saw a Christian republican do that?
Yea, don't think jesus would exactly be supporting too many of the christian conservative canidates for office if he came back today, but he would probably steer clear of politics anyway the way it is
