Have you seen the news? An Egyptian parchment was found that talks about Jesus and his wife. Desert News Article So, papyrus could be fake. Could just be a "rumor" that some early Christians believed to be true. Just because we have one piece of paper doesn't make it true. But it's worth pondering!
doesn't really matter what he did or didn't do for the first 30 years of his life, other then what he was executed for was the insurgency he lead against the roman occupation when he was 12 years old (the "money changers" i.e. romans, he smote (killed) and scourged from the temple) it was only when he started preaching pacifism after john the baptist taught it to him, that god chose him to be channeled by, as symbolized by the dove, landing on his shoulder.
and they probably should. i don't know if his siblings, if he had any, would have anything to do with it, but mary magdaline, if it wasn't for her, christianity would have died with him, and never gotten off the ground. it was she who first "resurected" the spirit of the decples, and got things going again, after his exicution.
another thing a major in comparitive religon at Emry in Atlanta showed a passage where 'Paul recieved a message from a female apostle who was senior to him.....
i believe that may have been the "jezabel" whom saul of tarsus misogyny later condemned. saul of tarsus, the so called "saint" paul, was born and wrote after the deciple john, who wrote revelations had already died. this is part of why the first nycean conferance in the latter half of the third century, ended with people killing each other over it.
This isn't the only article, just the first one I found. But you are right, it is very dubious. Can't wait to find out what "they" decide, if it's legit or not. Wonder if they will do a coverup and tell people it never happened. (Maybe should move this to the conspiracy board!)
It's from the 4th century, so it is interesting that people had thoughts like this in these days but it is written centuries after Jesus lived. So yeah, it isn't a reliable source. Anyway, I acknowledge we don't know much about his life for certain so for me personally it would not be a big deal at all. Good for him!
So was the rest of the bible. The fact of the matter is that there are books that were not included into the bible as a whole because the church disagreed with the content written in them. It is one of the major reasons religion, specifically the Christian one, cannot be trusted for its self-proclaimed validity.
Uhm, everything of the bible was written before the 4th century, mate. It was translated again and compiled by the church in those days. I agree some doubtful choices were made when they decided what should be in it and what not. I don't think they rewrote their translations totally as it suited them, since in later times the original parts were translated again many times and the fuzz in the differences is generally about some understandable details caused by language.
