the grudge was a lot better than ju on, but its always fun to see the original I would also look for the original "Ring", though i dont know the name. Japanese horror is a lot scarier to me for some reason...the stories are just so creepy
i didnt like it because there was alot stuff in the plot that wasnt well explaned, also it was not scary and shouldnt have been markted as a horror movie it should have been more of like a dective thiller
Its called Ringu, there is also Rasen which was realeased at the same time as ringu and is kinda a partner movie, Ringu 2 and Ringu 0.
Oh also Suicide Club or Jisatsu saakuru (yes I had to look up the title) that was a pretty good movie oh and St. john's wort or Otogiriso is another good one
marebito one missed call (and everything else by takashi miike) stacey: attack of the schoolgirl zombies uzumaki tetsuo: the iron man
except for the whole ghost/curse aspect of it . There was really no detective work in it at all. none that was central to the plot anyway
see i though they should have done more detective work in the plot, i just didnt realy find as a scary movie, as a horror movie it falled
~Ju-on The Grudge ~Gozu ~Freezer ~The Phone ~Tale of Two Sisters ~Battle Royale ~Ichi The Killer ~Toyko Syko ~Ghost Those films are classic!
i wouldnt say battle royale is a horror movie, but its one of my favorite live action japanese movies of all time.
anyone ever seen eat the schoolgirl? by the same guy that did the grudge(the japanese version) very disturbing though it starts out with a pretty interesting phone sex scene, I wasnt able to watch the whole thing as at one point it got a little too disturbing to watch
ANYTHING by takashi miike i suggest picking up this flick called three extremes, 3 short flicks by asian directors, all incredibly fucked up. old boy is a good one and this movie Pulse (Kairo in japan) just got the american remake treatment and is coming out soon, but it will suck, but the original is pretty good, check it out.
i thought Ichi was overrated. Audition was great tho Evil dead trap. is quite fun and i prefered Testuo 2 bodyhammer to tetsuo and apparently Organ is ment to be very good although it doesnt really do anything for me. Biozombie and Wild zero are quite fun tho
iv seen ringu but none of the others cuz i was confused as to the order they go in. what order should i watch them in?
