hi i was curious what you all are doing... especially around here. im planning on going to DC to witness this... i was wondering if anyone knows of anything going on ... if there was a group of people to join up with... i would love to sef
Can't make it do DC but am wondering about local protest. Checked indymedia but haven't found much. Any have any info on sites that list rallies/riots/protest or any other forms of civil or uncivil disobedience?
I'm looking for people to head out to "The Federal Bldg" with here in Los Angeles on Jan.20th "THIS HAS TO STOP"
i'm not gonna be able to hit d.c. or any federal buildings but my and a group of opeople are wearing black arm band for the death of progress
Numbers of protesters expected to hit the streets of DC range up to a million. If this indeed happens in 2 days, it'll be the most Historic demonstration of 1st amendment rights since the 1800s, never mind the 1960s (in terms of record numbers at a single event). At Bush's first "inauguration", approx. 20,000 people demonstrated against Bush, outnumbering supporters by (seemingly) 300 to 1 and the establishment "news" reported about 300 protesters! Altogether throughout the entire day, only 10 minutes of compressed footage were dedicated to the entire protests on all the broadcast tv news. (check archives of www.dc.indymedia.org ) Let's all pay close attention to the tv news. Homework assignment for those who can't make it to DC and don't have other major plans: watch the corporate news all day and report on HERE what you see (OR DON'T SEE!) Be an "at home" activist for a day :-D "IT'S THE MEDIA, STUPID!"
